King Tuff’s ‘Black Moon Spell’ available now on CD/LP/DLworldwide from Sub Pop
You can now watch “Headbanger,” the hilarious official video from King Tuff via Funny or Die. "Headbanger" stars the band, Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) and plenty of other bands from the bottom of the charts of past and present.
Jake Folgenest, who directed the new visual, had this to say: “As soon as I heard the King Tuff album I said, ‘Man I wish could watch a performance of them playing on "Top Of The Pops” in 1975.’ Since it would be impossible for that footage to exist, the next best thing was to call Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols and make it ourselves.”
King Tuff adds this: “We made another video for all the shitmonkeys of the world to enjoy (see Funny or Die January 21st)”
King Tuff’s 2015 tour is currently underway, with a show tonight January 21st in at Charlotte, NC at The Neighborhood Theatre and has been extended through April 20th in Tempe, AZ at Marquee.  Along the way, he’ll play shows with Ex Hex (January 21st-24th) and Father John Misty (March 25th-April 19th). What people are saying about King Tuff & Black Moon Spell:
“Thomas wins the 2014 glam-rock revival, plain and simple; Black Moon Spell is loaded with sterling examples of the genre from front-to-back.” [First Listen] - NPR Music
“Los Angeles-based singer-guitarist Kyle Thomas turns his love for Black Sabbath-style metal and T. Rex-style glam into exuberantly scuzzed-out-neo-Seventies guitar rock…But the real treat is his musical showmanship and the grimy guitars, especially on songs like the sweetly lascivious “Sick Mind.” He transforms his heroes’ black magic into debauched fun.” - Rolling Stone
“Crunchy riffs, sugary power-pop harmonies and a general beatific dudeness… Your fantasy coast-to-coast road trip will be poorer without this." - The Guardian

A scuzzy mix of garage rock and power pop, it's catnip for radio DJs in the spirit of The Who and Big Star. King Tuff is a he, not a band: Kyle Thomas has made three records as King Tuff, and the new one is called Black Moon Spell. "Eyes of the Muse" is an irresistible blast of guitar-driven pop with wild-man, Keith Moon-esque drum parts. ["Heavy Rotation" via "Morning Edition"] - NPR
“Thomas is a master craftsman with pedigree and Black Moon Spell is scuzzy, wired and bulging with Marc Bolan vocals, riffs Jimmy Page forgot to stick on a Zeppelin album and a bunch of outrageously catchy choruses. Big fun." - NME
“Kyle Thomas' King Tuff returns fiercer than ever with his take on psychedelia and classic rock, with generous doses of headbanging, humour and sentimentality. Black Moon Spell is an impressively diverse album, from the ballad "Staircase of Diamonds" and slick greaser tune "Eddie's Song" to the pared down acoustic "Ugly" and Ramones-y "Sick Mind.” [8/10, Review] - Exclaim!
“If the self-titled record was the test to see what exactly King Tuff was capable of, Black Moon Spell is the streamlining of those results, adjusting them to achieve maximum impact. If you found the replay value of King Tuff to be pretty high, this one’s going to raise the bar.” - Passion of the Weiss
"Heading straight back into the studio with a mission to freak the fuck out, what emerges is sheer, primordial garage rock ooze. Unrelenting from the off, Black Moon Spell is visceral rock 'n' roll, all blood, sweat, tears and outrageous riffs.” - Clash
"Black Moon Spell is defined by cataclysmic, thrashing crescendos and the kind of grubby riff that tends to be found in Jack White’s “DON’T OPEN: TOP SECRET” drawer.” “His most impressive bit of songwriting yet.” - DIY
“Kyle Thomas has made noise with a lot of different bands: Happy Birthday, Feathers, Witch. But he really hit his artistic stride when he renamed himself King Tuff and started knocking out snotty, scabby, attitudinally glammed-out garage rock. King Tuff’s new album Black Moon Spell... rips and snorts and kicks and struts.” STEREOGUM
Now, with Black Moon Spell, Thomas seizes that amphetamine groove and launches it into a glittering explosion. It’s an album whose fiber is built on the smoky cigarette haze of a dimly lit dive bar — best served with whiskey and a raucous crowd. Even through charges of distortion and screeching, fuzzed-out guitar, the hooks are catchy as hell, churning out infectiously sunny waves and sharply angled guitars. Thomas’ energy is palpable, and his magnetism smacks of the nervy core of late ’70s rock. -Consequence of Sound
"For his latest concoction, Sub Pop slack-rocker King Tuff has filled his broiling, metaphorical cauldron to the brim with incantatory snarls about “witches’ brew”, searing guitar solos and bucketloads of blood, ‘hot winter’ sweat and so on, with the outcome an intoxicating potion of big ol’ glam-rock proportions.” -Dots & Dashes
"King Tuff is the epitome of American Rock, he is larger than life with huge riffs and even crazier lyrics." -Louder Than War
“From the moment Black Moon Spell surges into life through shudderingly distorted, powerful guitar riffs and hauntingly aggressive vocals, it’s clear that Tuff means business.” - Crack Magazine
“Fourteen songs packed full of sex, classic rock references, parties, teenage rebellion, weirdness and downright stupidity… Black Moon Spell is one hell of a ride.” - London in Stereo
