"Change The World, One Good Choice At A Time"
Miami, FL (September 8, 2020) - Actress, and well-known animal rights and sustainable lifestyle advocate, Maria Gabriela de Faria, has launched a new eco-friendly lifestyle blog, TheFaria.Online.
De Faria catapulted to fame across Latin America starring in three hit Nickelodeon series, "Isa TKM", "Grachi" and "Yo Soy Franky," as well as "Sitiados 2" (Fox Telecolombia) and "Juana la Virgen" (the RTV hit series remade in the U.S. as "Jane The Virgin"). Maria's first U.S. series, "Deadly Class" (alongside Lana Condor), was a cult hit for the SyFy Network, and her second series, "The Moodys" (alongside Denis Leary), has just received a greenlight for its second season. De Faria also has 5 films under her belt.
Over the last two years, Maria has seen her Instagram following (@TheFaria) grow to over 1.4 million followers, and her posts on sustainable fashion, vegan eating, personal development and "happy earth" habits have become the most well-liked topics in her feed.
"I have long wanted to start this blog," said Maria. "I've always wanted to use my voice, more than just in brief Instagram posts, to influence as many people as I can toward more sustainable choices in life. 2020 gave me the perfect opportunity to really take the time to assess my own life, and my own lifestyle, and make some lasting changes. I want to share the things I've discovered, and my own personal successes (and failures!). Change is not easy, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming.
I really do believe we can change the world, one good choice at a time."
In her new blog, de Faria is surprisingly open and provides intimate insights into her personal life. Posts like "Surviving a Stay At Home Order (in a Studio Apartment, with Two Fat Cats and a Husband)", "Vegan What??" and "We Are Not Broken", dive deep into her own experiences navigating relationships, making healthier food choices (including recipes...who knew she was a cook?!), and learning to overcome insecurities. Posts like "The True Cost" take a look at "fast fashion" and its destructive effects on the Earth's ecosystem but also make recommendations on what to look for when buying clothes, and where to find cute, sustainable fashion.
"Love Isn't Easy" takes a look at coupling (and her relationship with now-husband, fellow actor, Christian McGaffney):
"I believed that when love is true love, it is easy and free of conflict," writes de Faria. "Until one day, love became hard."
The "Projects" and "Podcast" sections are currently blank, but tease the topics of additional posts to come. De Faria intends to upload 1 new post per week, many of which will link out to videos hosted on her new, updated YouTube Channel (also called @TheFaria).
Readers can leave comments, and Maria hopes they will share their own experiences into her new community, which Maria describes as a place with "no judgement, just great hope."
