Laibach Release New Song "Das Nachtlied I"; New Album Out July 14

LAIBACH RELEASE NEW SONG “DAS NACHTLIED I” ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA OUT JULY 14 NOVEMBER TOUR ANNOUNCED

“Silence is worse; all truths that are kept silent become poisonous.” Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra    Laibach have unveiled a track from their brand new album, Also Sprach Zarathustra, out on July 14, 2017 on Mute. The music for Also Sprach Zarathustra was originally created for a theatrical production of Thus Spoke Zarathustra (Also Sprach Zarathustra) based on Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical novel of the same name, which premiered in March 2016. Thus Spoke Zarathustra was directed by Matjaž Berger for the Anton Podbevšek Theatre (APT) in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Laibach will be touring Also Sprach Zarathustra in November this year – starting in Budapest on November 4 with a date in London on November 23 - and before that, play a series of festival dates. Full details below. Meanwhile, Laibach recently completed a short tour that included a date in South Korea. The date followed Laibach’s infamous North Korean tour (in 2015, on the anniversary of the DPRK’s liberation from Japan) which is documented in Liberation Day, a film directed by Morten Traavik and described by MOJO as “a humorous, disturbing, illuminating and sometimes moving immersion into an anomalous communist mirror-world …” Liberation Day is currently screening at film festivals worldwide, for the latest details go to http://www.liberationday.film/ Thirty-five years on from their genesis in the then-Yugoslavian industrial town of Trbovlje, Laibach are still the most internationally acclaimed band to have come out of the former Communist countries of Eastern and Central Europe.
