PIXIES WRAP UP LEG ONE OF THEIR NORTH AMERICAN TOUR THIS FRIDAY, MAY 26 AS MUSICAL GUESTS ON "THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT"

LOS ANGELES, CA - (Wednesday, May 24, 2017) - This Friday, May 26, shortly after the Pixies take the final bow of Leg One of their 2017 North American tour at New York's Brooklyn Steel, the band will make its debut appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Taken from the band's second post-reunion release, Head Carrier (pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam), Pixies will perform "Tenement Song," "...a highly melodic, jangly jam," according to Stereogum.  "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" airs 11:35PM - 12:37AM ET/PT on CBS. Pixies - Joey Santiago/guitars, David Lovering/drums, Black Francis/guitars, vocals, and Paz Lenchantin/bass, vocals - kicked off the sold-out Leg One on April 21.  Following five weeks of major European festivals, Pixies will start Leg Two on September 19 in New Haven, CT, wrapping October 21 in Las Vegas; the just-announced third and final North American leg will focus on the west coast and launch with two dates in Portland, OR on December 1.   With more Leg Three dates to be announced, the itinerary for Legs Two and Three is below.
