Washed Out has just extended his previously announced late summer and fall tour to include southeastern US dates in support of Paracosm.  The trek is currently underway with a show tonight, September 3rd in Vancouver, BC at Fortune Sound Club and now ends November 14th in Louisville, KY at Headliners Music Hall. All November dates will go on sale Friday, September 6th and will be available to purchase via www.washedout.net. Please find a complete list of tour dates below.

Paracosm is currently the no. 1 record on the CMJ Top 200 chart for two consecutive weeks. In related news, Greene and his band have scheduled a few sessions on the horizon which includes the just-completed KCRW “Morning Becomes Eclectic”(view + listen here) and Sirius XMU performances (premieres Sep. 4th / 9pm ET). This is in addition to upcoming sessions with WFUV, WBEZ’s Sound Opinions, KEXP, and KCMP’s The Current.

Washed Out’s Paracosm debuted at no. 21 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The album has earned praise from the likes of the New York Times, Entertainment Weekly,  Vogue, Elle, Rolling Stone, Billboard, FILTER, AV Club, Paper, USA Today, The Guardian, Vogue, Pitchfork, Alternative Press, Slant, All Music Guide, Q, Mojo, Uncut, Loud and Quiet, and more.  Additionally, Greene teamed up with The Creators Project, a global arts and technology initiative from Vice and Intel, to produce “Exploring The Sounds of Paracosm”, a two-part series that focuses on the instrumentation found on the album (see The Creators Project July 18th & August 1st).

Washed Out's Paracosm is available now on CD, LP and digital in North America via Sub Pop. The album, featuring the singles “It All Feels Right” and  “Don’t Give Up” was recorded by Ernest Greene with returning producer Ben Allen in Athens and Atlanta, Georgia.

Paracosm is available to purchase at Sub Pop's Washed Out page and at the Washed Out store. People who order the album on LP at subpop.com will receive the limited “Loser Edition” of the album on colored vinyl, and all subpop.com orders will receive a free, limited edition 7” single of “Pull You Down” b/w “Exit” (neither of which appear on Paracosm).  You can now listen to “Pull Me Down” here.

What People Are Saying About Washed Out’s Paracosm:
“It’s a realm of leisurely melodies and keyboard chords that wash in and drift away, of calm vocal harmonies and burbling electronics, of lavishly blended acoustic and electronic instruments and echoes of reassuring pop from past eras...Paracosm sounds warmer, more enveloping; precisely because it’s so much more spacious, it’s cozier.” [Playlist] - New York Times

“The perfect record for the lazy weeks of summer--a sun-dappled, intricately layered, indie pop beauty.” [#2 / “Must List”] - Entertainment Weekly

"Greene's meticulous creations are still slow-rolling and thickly layered, but this time he and returning Animal Collective producer Ben Allen slather on less futuristic sounds: Mellotron, bongos, children laughing. Harplike arpeggios herald the beginning of the title track like the launch of a Technicolor reverie, but the nine-song LP’s dreamiest tune is ”All I Know,” a nostalgic stunner that glows like a jar of fireflies." [Review, 3.5/5 Stars] - Rolling Stone

“...Eerily beautiful” [Review, 3/4 stars] -  USA Today

“There’s something so distinctly summery about the Washed Out sound...the much-anticipated follow-up Paracosm seems as essential to the season as flip-flops and sunscreen...But unlike Washed Out’s previous efforts, in which frosty digital-age samples and drum machines served as the sonic backbone, Paracosm has a lush, natural feel, beginning with a bird-chirping, harp-scaling overture inspired by the rural Georgia retreat.” [Feature]  - Vogue

Paracosm is a beautiful, beautiful album.” [Review, 88%] - FILTER

“It All Feels Right” bumps with light reggae upticks before momentarily collapsing into a sunstroke, while “Great Escape” leans off the beat just enough to generate a little bit of Southern soul…However, Greene is growing in terms of melodic construct, as the chorus of “Don’t Give Up” is the strongest and trickiest he’s ever written." [Review] - Pitchfork

“A stellar feel-good summer record that measures Greene’s growth as songwriter and musician.” [Review, 82%] - PASTE

“The result is warm, expansive and often acoustic. Where Life of Leisure and Within and Without played like the hypnogogic reveries of an artist retreating further and further into himself, Paracosm is music that fully engages with the outside world...” [Feature] - Billboard
