GRAMMY-nominated, Gold-certified songwriter and powerhouse vocalist HAYLA unveils her sophomore album DARK, an impactful and ethereal sequel to 2025’s DUSK, out today, July 31. Filled with a haunting and ethereal atmosphere and mesmerizing harmonies as heard on previous singles “HEAL,” “ENOUGH,” and “EASIER,” plus today’s focus track “DARK,” this project signifies her bold shift from dance floor anthems into powerful alternative storytelling.

Each song on DARK carries a lingering sensation, as it puts HAYLA’s effortless alto vocals on full display. The release’s focus track “DARK,” establishes an overall mood and theme for the record within a gentle yet resonant soundscape. “I’m not alone in the dark, I feel you heavy on my heart,” she proclaims, before exploring the nuances of emotions around isolation, connection, grief, and longing throughout the project.

Shares HAYLA about “DARK,” “This song is about grief. All of the conversations that weren’t had, all of the memories I keep and the heaviness felt in the aftermath. The dreams that bring a lost one closer again and the glow that you find in the darkest of nights that remind you you’re not alone. I have been surrounded in a warmth ever since I suffered this loss. There are signs everywhere if you’re open to them. Sending love to anyone who’s grieving.”

Another standout “FEAR” feels dissonant and soft at first, before transitioning into a full belt during the chorus. This track contains few lyrics, letting HAYLA’s vocal dynamics provide an accurate portrayal of how fear impacts a vulnerable person, leading into the desperate cry “Why’ve I got to fear it all?” The songs become increasingly charged as the project progresses, ending on a high note. DARK culminates in the impactful “I JUST HOPE WE DON”T RUN OUT OF TIME.”

“This album has a lot of themes in it surrounding grief and heartbreak,” adds HAYLA. “I wrote this album in the darkest period of my life. A time when I wasn’t sure if I knew how to vocalise my feelings and what I had been through. It’s written extremely authentically and for the love of writing, connection and catharsis.”

The album release follows the launch of HAYLA’s 2026 festival run, which started with a momentous EDC Las Vegas Kinetic Field main stage debut in May. There, thousands of festival-goers packed the stage to see her performing her solo releases “Fall Again,” “Freefall,” “Alone,” “Visions of You,” “Embers” from her debut album DUSK and new release “Heal,” alongside her major collaborations with Kx5, John Summit, KYGO, Meduza, ILLENIUM, Nelly Furtado, Sub Focus and Wilkinson. Since then, she’s shared her mesmerizing show with stages at Breakaway Festival in Columbus, OH, Washington DC’s Project Glow, Calgary Badlands Festival, San Diego Pride, and coming up this weekend, Amsterdam World Pride.

Fans can experience a more intimate version of the set on her upcoming The Dark Tour, which brings HAYLA back to North America later this summer. Kicking off in Chicago, IL on August 6, the tour will cover several major markets on the east coast, west coast, and midwest, before concluding in Los Angeles, CA with a special night at The Fonda on September 4. While HAYLA’s last tour leaned into the singer’s dance floor heavy roots - featuring dancefloor hits such as the iHeartRadio Music Award nominated “In My Arms” with ILLENIUM, “FADED” with Nelly Furtado, and “Where You Are” and “Shiver” with John Summit - The Dark Tour serves as part of her reinvention allowing her to perform these tracks and more. About HAYLA

HAYLA is one of electronic music’s most recognizable voices, a Liverpool-born singer-songwriter whose powerhouse vocals have graced some of the biggest stages and records in the genre. Her path led from teaching singing lessons in her hometown to headlining sold-out venues across North America and performing at Coachella, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Ushuaïa Ibiza.

A GRAMMY-nominated, Gold-certified artist, she has scored Dance Radio #1s with John Summit (“Where You Are,” “Shiver”), Kygo (“Without You”), MEDUZA (“Another World”), and ILLENIUM (“In My Arms”). Her debut album DUSK earned a Spotify Mint cover and BBC Radio 1 “Hottest Record,” with “Visions Of You” reaching #2 on Mediabase and top 10 on Billboard Dance Airplay 2025. Her collaboration with Nelly Furtado, “FADED,” delivered a haunting cinematic dancefloor anthem via Casablanca Records. In 2026, she received nominations for an iHeartRadio Music Award and four Electronic Dance Music Awards. She won a Femmy Award for Best Vocalist at Miami Music Week and made her solo debut on the main stages of EDC Las Vegas and EDC Mexico. Across her solo works and collaborations, collectively HAYLA has garnered over 1 billion streams on Spotify.

HAYLA took to the stage at St Pancras Church in London in March 2026 for an exclusive show performing entirely new music from her upcoming album DARK, a bold statement of intent and a clear signal of her musical evolution. Her sound she calls “sad bitch music” is emotionally heavy yet hopeful, melancholic but empowering. Themes of loss, love, grief, and resilience run throughout. Rather than offering answers, the music holds space allowing listeners to find their own meaning. The message at the heart of it all is simple but powerful: you are not alone.

DARK is out now.
