(April 15, 2026) - duendita shares the new single “beach,” today, which marks the second offering from their forthcoming album existential thottie, set to arrive on April 29th via 10k Global. “beach” follows the previously shared single “super sad!,” which opened up the new era of music that moves between vulnerability and catharsis, grounding duendita’s work in reflections on identity, community, and survival.
To celebrate the release, duendita will host an existential thottie listening event in Berlin on April 28, featuring DJ sets from wooly aziz and mi-el, Caribbean patties by antilles NY and an album playback at 10:30pm along with a short performance.
Beginning in May, duendita will bring the new music on the road with the thottie tour, performing songs from the upcoming album in cities across Europe. Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase here.
Speaking about existential thottie, duendita shares: "At first, I was nervous to share this project. The songs are so personal, like a diary. Then I realized this is the first project I produced completely ‘head 2 toe,’ so no wonder… these songs started with me, sometimes just me and my Digitakt, alone, late nights and early mornings, pure expression. Maybe this project is for me, more than for anyone else.
I worked on the demos as much as I could, then brought in my collaborators and bandmates. I love letting our live experiences inform our recorded music—that’s how we ended up with harp and live drums, additional vocals, keys, and bass. For a long time, 'beach' was my favorite song… but now 'roasting that ass' stole my heart. When we play it live, ugh, lawddddd, I love life.
The whole project is about being jiggly, ridiculous, and honest—songs about breakups, crying in the club, emotional pain that never leaves, really hot and safe sex, birth control, fights in my hetero ass situationship, my time navigating the state mental health system… and ending with a promise that I will give healing my all.”
duendita is a band from Queens, New York. They write and produce their own music, imbuing it with a reverence for their ancestry, community, and faith. Anchored by achy, bass-coated tones and mix of jazz, piano, soul and R&B, duendita's music is evocative of the complexities and sentimentality of the human experience. Flowing in various shapes and formations, duendita is a living collaborative project made with family and friends across mediums and cities.
Check out “beach” and stay tuned for existential thottie from duendita coming soon. |
