MARCH 5, 2026 – San Fernando Valley-bred trio Bedelia have released their debut EP Never change, love you always. The five-track collection arrives as a shimmering, 90’s alternative-inspired collection fusing dream-pop and indie rock, showcasing a softer side of hardcore vocalist Marisa Shirar.
The EP was heralded by debut single “Tightrope” and subsequent offering, “Valley Sadness.” The tracks arrived to critical acclaim, with Stereogum hailing “Tightrope” as “a gauzy, propulsive piece of alt-pop,” and adding, “Both tracks make great use of Marisa Shirar's huge voice, but they don't sound anything like Fleshwater. Instead, they're going into The Sundays/Cocteau Twins shimmer-sigh zone, which is a great place to be.” Alternative Press lauded the “dreamy” first single, while BrooklynVegan praised “Tightrope” as “shimmering.”

The California band is a new project formed by drum and bass player Miles Morris (from Rolling Stone-lauded LA indie rock outfit Bad Suns), Fleshwater vocalist Marisa Shirar (whose “towering melodies” have been praised by Stereogum, Pitchfork, The FADER and more), and guitarist Dakota Floeter (Ethel Cain).
About Bedelia:
In 2025, Bad Suns drummer Miles Morris found himself in a period of transition, writing music with no clear home. Inspired, he turned to his childhood friend Marisa Shirar and Bedelia quickly took shape, with the five-track debut EP Never change, love you always arriving as a creative vessel for the change and grief the pair were each navigating in their own lives. Joined by Dakota Floeter’s dreamy guitar tones, Bedelia make their mark with a collection that’s familiar and new all at once.
