"Kate and Brandon bring a lot of moxie — and a little new wave energy" - Brooklyn Vegan"The new video from LA rocker Kate Clover feels both retro and of-the-moment, with equal amounts of over-policing and bizarre fashion choices reflecting both eras of American life." - FLOOD
"West Coast fringe counterculture and gritty innocence take centre stage in her lyrics as Clover delves into self-discovery, self-creation, and self-preservation." - Post-Punk"A delightfully dirty dating game in the video for her rock romance anthem." - Hollywood Life
"From the filthy bassline that kicks off opening garage rock banger ‘Crimewave’, through the wonky uptempo jangle of ‘Pleasure Forever’ to the wailing harmonica of final track ‘Follow My Heart’ it’s a non-stop thrill ride of fuzzy guitar riffs, indie disco floor filling rhythms and Clover’s cool as ice vocal delivery." - Joyzine
"Further cements her rock-star reputation [...] Dizzying and delightfully retro with a present-day pulse, the track blazes forward on Clover’s vocals and guitar." - Cool Hunting
"As a whole, Cut The Wire produces an outstanding exemplar of the artist’s road to self-discovery, and builds more anticipation than ever for the release of her LP [...] Bleed Your Heart Out promises to be a true testament to the fringe cultures of skating and surfing which surrounded the artist growing up." - Wonderland
"With an electrifying soundscape that draws influence from the likes of Suicide, Primal Scream and the Gun Club, the cover cuts deeply into Clover’s authentic rock sound, as she makes the well-loved song completely her own." - EARMILK
"Clover kills with a ferocious urgency, growling guitar chords, and an all-around compulsive flair for garage and punk traditions past and present." - Glide
"[Adds] a layer of cold-hearted malice to the original’s retro beehive swing" - Joyzine
"A caper/double-cross story transpiring in the desert with a stylish all-female cast." - Buzz Bands LA
"The song is based around fuzzed-out guitars that open with a frenetic start-stop riff, Clover’s vocals straddling the line between retro doo-wop and slightly more modern garage punk." - MXDWN
"Bratty, gritty, glam, and vintage in all the right ways, Clover’s music revives the sound of yesteryear’s counterculture with all of the pop hooks, sharp melodies, and ear-catching punch intact." - Under The Radar
"Gritty, provocative, and unapologetically camp." - FLAUNT
"A frenzied yet poignant classic girl-group meets punk anthem that sounds like a long-lost Blondie or Kirsty MacColl tune through a Wall of Sound haze." - Post-Punk
"Oozing over swift chords and 1950s Doo-Wop, Clover channels her inner Exene Cervenka." - American Songwriter
"A rampant, retro track with driven, gritty guitar-based instrumentals as Clover wails some doo-wop style lines over top." - Indie88
"Her new work leans into the garage rock and punk styles she’s always adored." - KEXP
"Mining the paranoiac ephemera of 1960s PSAs and MK Ultra, the video dilates the xerox copy underside of blotter paper for a whimsical tale of psychic control." - Under The Radar
"The title track, which has been newly remixed by Carlos De La Garza (Cherry Glazerr/Bad Religion), is a terrific garage rock nugget with a little late-'70s panache in there as well, all while spinning a tale of love and the CIA's Project MKUltra." - Brooklyn Vegan
"Considered a staple in the LA rock scene, Kate Clover has just released her very first project under her name. Her debut single, “Channel Zero” conveys the traditional punk sound and exudes her powerful vocals with a heavy guitar sound. As well, the song is a “defiant rallying cry against mindless media and political puppets" - Flaunt Magazine |

Today, rising star in the punk underground and explosive live performer Kate Clover, has released her newest single “No More Romance”. Ahead of her Fall North American support tour with The Hives, and at the heels of her European tour where she set stages ablaze to multiple sold out venues, this is the first offering from her forthcoming record to be released in spring 2024.
“No More Romance” is a broken heart on sleeve love song. Accompanied by a prom-themed music video, the track was produced by Jonah Falco (Fucked Up) and Brandon Welchez (Crocodiles) and mixed by Carlos de la Garza (The Linda Lindas, Paramore, Cherry Glazzer). Sonically inspired by The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers and The Exploding Hearts. Lyrically, the song recounts the adrenaline rush of anger brought on by a lover’s quarrel. The feeling of vulnerability when true feelings are expressed without self-consciousness. The fear of your partner seeing an unresolved part of yourself. The beginning of true intimacy and love by allowing them to see your true self. |
