“A welcome return: light and sonically sweet, there’s a sense of ease to both the chiming synths and frontwoman Hannah Reid’s vocals...pure pop energy” - GQ
“SebastiAn has hit the scene as the dark prince of Ed Banger’s French touch 2.0” – Billboard
Paris - July 7, 2023 — Today, the French artist, producer SebastiAn (Ed Banger) and the UK trio London Grammar release a brand new, original track “Dancing By Night” on Because Music HERE + the Jeanne Lula Chauveau directed music video HERE. The gorgeously gripping track is rare new music from SebastiAn whose last solo album Thirst came out in 2019, besides his continued fashion show soundtracks for Saint Laurent. “Dancing By Night” is part of a brand new remix collection London Grammar - The Remixes which is set for release on July 21 on Ministry of Sound.
London Grammar says: “It was a total joy writing and creating this track with Sebastian. We are so excited for you to hear it. He is a total genius and it really has been an honour.”
SebastiAn quote: “Her pure and powerful voice is a world by itself and a gift to me, an incredible experience being able to cross her intensity and my music. Hannah looks quiet, but she’s strong, it has been a privilege for me to work together.”
Featuring 16 tracks in total, London Grammar - The Remixes presents some of the band’s best remixes to date, plus a selection of new reworkings from Dot Major, Jamie Jones, Joris Voorn and will include another brand new original track from the group in collaboration with CamelPhat.
From their home at Ministry of Sound Records - where they have resided since the release of their debut If You Wait in 2013 - London Grammar - The Remixes will be the first time the band release a collection dedicated to the part of their craft that has arguably formed the foundation of their success to date. From Disclosure, Flume, Bonobo and High Contrast, to George FitzGerald, Kölsch and Paul Epworth, this is the sound of a band who have traced the British pop graph for over a decade; their balearic pulse synonymous with an outfit whose library of electronic collaborators is boundless.
About SebastiAn: After having put his talent as a producer at the service of others (Frank Ocean, Philippe Katerine, Charlotte Gainsbourg) in order to better adjust his shooting, seduced the world of cinema with his original compositions for many award-winning films such as Quentin Dupieux "Steak" (2007), Romain Gavras "Our day will come" (2010), "The world is yours" (2018), as well as his continued collaboration with the house of Saint Laurent for which he produces their fashion show music, SebastiAn returned with a second solo album Thirst (2019), the follow up to his iconic debut Total (2011).
From European electro to American R'n'B all in the great pop tradition, Thirst embraces all styles and emerges as an astonishing opening onto new worlds. And if SebastiAn has invited an impressive number of guests to Thirst (Syd from The Internet, Mayer Hawthorne, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Allan Kingdom, Sevdaliza, Bakar, Sunni Colón, Sparks, Gallant and Loota), it is because this project was born from the boiling caused by the oppositions.
About London Grammar: London Grammar - The Remixes follows the band’s #1 selling album Californian Soil, which garnered huge acclaim from critics and secured the band their third BRIT Nomination for Best Group in 2022. The album has now been certified Gold in the UK. The trio completed their biggest UK tour to date in 2021, including two nights at London’s Alexandra Palace which sold out in just one day. They headlined All Points East and played to over 700,000 fans on Coldplay’s stadium tour in 2022.
