THE FALL AND RISE OF EDGAR BOURCHIER
AND THE HORRORS OF WAR
MICK HARVEY & CHRISTOPHER RICHARD BARKER have released the video for their new single, “Corpse 564,” which is out today on Mute. Watch the video here.

The track, taken from their recent collaborative album The Fall and Rise of Edgar Bourchier and the Horrors of War, features vocals by Christopher Richard Barker and is backed by a Marc Riley session version of “Corpse 564” and “Further Down The Line.” Both of which were recorded for Riley’s BBC6Music program in Manchester with Gallon Drunk’s James Johnston and a string quartet.

The Fall and Rise of Edgar Bourchier and the Horrors of War is a concept album tracking 100 years of musical history as various artists tackle the work of a fictional World War I poet named Edgar Bourchier. On “Corpse 564,” we hear fictitious 80s band The Moon Lepers’ interpretation of Bourchier’s 1917 poem.

The album features collaborations from J.P. Shilo, a long-time collaborator of Harvey’s as well as Jade Imagine, Simon Breed and Alain Johannes who join as guest vocalists. Stream and purchase the album here.
