Steady Holiday, the indie-pop project of LA's Dre Babinski, announced her new recordNobody's Watching today -- the album is her first since signing to Barsuk Records and will be released on August 24. Produced by Gus Seyffert (Roger Waters, Beck, Bedouine), Nobody's Watching folds a sense of paranoia in the modern age into Steady Holiday's evocative soundscapes, resulting in an album that's both dreamy and unsettling.
Stereogum premiered the album's title track today, calling it "shaggy and casual, synths cascading like a devilish grin... [Babinski] spent the time in between the two albums touring and becoming increasingly terrified at the state of the world around us. Her new album confronts that fear head-on through a series of sketches that demonstrate bad people have been in play since the beginning of time and that evil is nothing new."
Nobody's Watching is available for pre-order now.
