"a vigorously unsettling collaborative album that plays to their strengths....suffused with a volatility and uneasiness that are ADULT. signatures." – ASSOCIATED PRESS

"Not many bands make their best album nearly 20 years into their career, but Adult. have done just that with Detroit House Guests." – THE STRANGER

ADULT. (Detroit’s Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) release Detroit House Guests: Variations today. The digital EP features alternative takes and mixes of their latest album. Listen here.

The band have also announced a new 12” release on December 1. Detroit House Guests: The Remixes will include mixes from labelmates Liars as well as Silent Servant, aka Juan Mendez, Barry Adamson (whose forthcoming Love Sick Dick Remixed EP features ADULT.) and Shannon Funchess, who performs on the original album release.

ADULT. have announced a series of US dates that include two shows as Kuperus & Miller presenting a performance entitled ‘The Perfect Accent Piece’ as well as a headline show at Brooklyn’s newest venue, Elsewhere. ADULT. released their latest album, Detroit House Guests, earlier this year. Based on the visual artist residency model, the album features collaborations with a whole host of musicians and artists – Douglas J McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb, Michael Gira from Swans, Shannon Funchess from Light Asylum, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe aka Lichens, Austrian thereminist Dorit Chrysler and Lun*na Menoh. Each musician came to ADULT.’s studio for a three-week period with the parameter that they all live, work and collaborate together. The result - a total anthropological sound experiment and a full-length album.

Kuperus and Miller also make sculpture, paintings, films, photographs, performances, videos and installations. They strive to intersect the lines between art and audio and have exhibited their work at institutions such as the Austrian Cultural Forum (NY), Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh), Detroit Institute of Arts (Detroit), MOMAS (Saitama, Japan), and Centre d'art contemporain de Meymac (FR). They have shown their film The Three Grace(s) triptych at spaces such as Anthology Film Archives (NY), Distrital Film Festival (Mexico City), and Grey Area for Art and Technology (SF).
