ANNOUNCE THE ADDITION OF THREE NEW BRITISH DATES

AS NEARLY 20,000 UK TOUR TICKETS SOLD OUT IN MINUTES

When the Pixies' six UK tour dates went on sale late last month, nearly 20,000 tickets sold out in mere minutes.  So today, the band - Black Francis/guitar & vocals, Joey Santiago/guitar, David Lovering/drums, and brand-new member, bassist Paz Lenchantin - announces that three additional UK dates have been added to the itinerary - Brixton Academy on December 6, Cardiff Arena on December 7, and Birmingham Academy on December 8.  A special fan-only pre-sale begins this Wednesday at 9:00AM at Pixiesmusic.com.  The general ticket on-sale starts Friday at 9:00AM at Pixiesmusic.com.

The Pixies UK/European tour is in support of the band's sophomore "post-reunion" album Head Carrier (Pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam/PIAS) due out September 30.  Already getting terrific feedback, the album's first single, "Um Chagga Lagga," is, according to Stereogum, "a welcome dose of bracing, old-school Pixies urgency," and can be streamed at pixiesmusic.com

The Pixies ask that if you are unable to purchase tickets at Wednesday's pre-sale or at Friday's general on-sale, not to purchase them at inflated prices from secondary tickets site.  The band is aggressively doing everything it can to stop ticketing rip-offs.
