“It’d leave you breathless if you weren’t humming along.” - NPR
“Draws inspiration from bands like The White Stripes, The Ronettes, Nirvana, and Hole.” -Flavorwire
Brooklyn based garage rock trio Sharkmuffin creates super-heavy, jagged, and exceedingly catchy punk rock. Their newest album, Chartreuse, will be released on August 7 and in advance of its release they have paired their lead single “ First Date” with a homemade music video. Premiering on New York Magazine’s Bedford + Bowery, the video is short, sweet, fun, and now available to watch and share on YouTube.
Sharkmuffin was recently named one of the “20 All-Female Bands You Need to Know” by Billboard. Experienced guitarist Tarra Theissen (vocals/guitar) and Natalie Kirch (vocals/bass) jammed in punk paradise Asbury Park in 2012 and have continued to play together since. After two powerful EP’s and a self-titled 7”, the duo are proud to be releasing their debut full-length album Chartreuse on August 7 via State Capital/Little Dickman Records.
The album features drumming from Patty Schemel (Upset, Death Valley Girls, Hole) and marks a whole new era in their style of music. The noise-punk-meets-psychedelic power pop group has evolved their sound on the new album and the result is a full length filled with ten tracks of commanding hits.
