Lee "Scratch" Perry @ Gramercy Theatre

Grammy-winning reggae legend, Lee "Scratch" Perry, will play a rare, intimate New York concert at Gramercy Theatre on Thursday, May 17th at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
A true trailblazer of Jamaican music, "Scratch" Perry helped shape the sound of dub and reggae, as an artist with songs like "People Funny Boy", and as the formative producer for Bob Marley and the Wailers. Lee "Scratch" Perry released a prolific stream of his own work throughout the 1960's, 70's and 80's. His music was a heavy influence on artists for generations to come, particularly on Bob Marley, and on the famed dub scientist, The Mad Professor, but also on notable non-Jamaican acts like The Clash and The Beastie Boys.
In 2002, after more than 40 years in the music business, Lee "Scratch" Perry won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, for his disc, Jamaican E.T.
