RÖYKSOPP ANNOUNCE PROFOUND MYSTERIES II REMIX SERIES, SHARE “UNITY” (ANFISA LETYAGO REMIX) AMBITIOUS AWARD-WINNING PROFOUND MYSTERIES PROJECT GARNERS 50 MILLION STREAMS AND COUNTING BAND SET TO COMMENCE TRUE ELECTRIC TOUR NEXT WEEK |
Röyksopp photo by Stian Anderen Following the success of the &ME remix of “Impossible” featuring Alison Goldfrapp last year, Röyksopp are launching 2023 with a new series of remixes from Profound Mysteries II, commencing with today’s release of a Italian-Siberian producer and DJ Anfisa Letyago’s remix of “Unity” featuring Karen Harding and the recently released Susanne-Sundfør-featuring “Oh, Lover” remix by French melodic techno producer NTO (AllPoints). Further remixes are set for release over the coming months from an array of new and established producers. Both the freshly-announced Ninja Tune signee Salute and platinum-selling US producer Baauer have remixes for “Unity”on the way. March will kick off with British techno producer Massano (Afterlife) taking on the epic “Control” while Munich-based producer Innellea closes out the series on April 6th with a rework of the Astrid S collaboration “Let’s Get It Right.” Röyksopp released their critically acclaimed epic Profound Mysteries project throughout 2022, garnering 50m streams to date, and receiving huge support from BBC 6Music. The three part series, encompassing a huge output of music, art, and short films, was a unique undertaking and easily the band’s most ambitious project to date. In addition to the aforementioned &ME remix of “Impossible,” chosen as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune of 2022 and streamed over 4m times, Röyksopp’s Profound Mysteries also already received reworks from Henry Saiz, Rodriguez Jr, Township Rebellion, and most recently Qrion. The latter’s remix of “Breathe” arrived earlier this month and has already attracted heavy playlist support via Spotify’s Altar and Electronic Rising. Röyksopp’s 2023 True Electric EU Tour begins in Sweden on February 16th, including dates at London’s Troxy on February 19th (in replacement of Brixton Academy due to closure) and Tempodrom in Berlin on February 23rd. All dates sold out apart from London, Prague, and Oslo where a few tickets remain. The True Electric tour will be the legendary duo’s first tour since 2017. Last year Röyksopp premiered their dance-fuelled live show to festivals in Norway, reminding everyone why they’re one of the world’s must see live artists. Watch the trailer.
