MAZ DEFIANTLY OFFERS UP HER SECOND SINGLE “MAYBE LOVE” – STREAM FIRST ARTIST TO RELEASE MUSIC THROUGH EARLY RISING’S DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH ELEKTRA “Like if Blondie, Björk and Grimes came together.” – Zane Lowe |
Today, Utah’s hidden threat to the modern alt-pop world, Maz, releases her second single “Maybe Love.” Inspired by the early 2000s snowboard culture she grew up in, and her dad’s involvement in Robot Food’s 2003 snowboard film Lame, the track is a rebellious hit to the chest for anyone who has previously attempted to box her in – Stream. As Maz sonically rips through her frustrations with hookup culture, the production stylings of fellow Utahn, Tyler Harris, and Still Woozy collaborators, Bobbing and Cole Williams help to annihilate the rule book of how to step by step craft a song that sticks. Maz is the first artist taking part in Early Rising’s new distribution deal with Elektra. “I think my generation is missing the possibility of deeper connection and the ability to see the individuality of each soul,” Maz said about the meaning behind today’s single. |

Lowe said, “She’s something special and this is just the beginning!” For a brand-new artist, key tastemakers are already noticing how unignorable and incomparable this rising act is. ABOUT MAZ: Spawning from the mountainous terrain of Logan, Utah, Maz has entered this era to exhibit her mammoth take on alt-pop/rock. At only 20-years-old, she premiered her first official release “How Does It Feel” on Zane Lowe's World First show on Apple Music in September 2022. Maz's indie success led to additional support from Spotify's Fresh Finds team, with Maz gracing the cover of the playlist in late October. At the age of 15, Maz jumped into music on a whim based purely off of a desire to create. Posting some of her early work to SoundCloud, traction quickly built as others latched onto the lyrical relatability of being cheated on by a skater. Flash forward five years, Maz is now the first artist that Early Rising is releasing music with through their distribution deal with Elektra. With inspiration from her upbringing skating and snowboarding in a small mountain town, Maz created her follow up single “Maybe Love,” available everywhere now. She teamed up with fellow Utahn, Tyler Harris, and Still Woozy collaborators, Bobbing and Cole Williams to perfect the new single. The coming months will see Maz’s domination and upheaval of the alt-pop-scape continue to spread like wildfire. ### For more information on Maz, please visit: Instagram / Spotify / Twitter / Apple Music / SoundCloud |
