Marie Minet shares her latest chanson "Hanoï" Listen It's the story of an unexpected meeting between a young Frenchwoman and the prodigious Cape Verdean musician Jon Luz, which results in the creation of the single Hanoi, a synthesis of genres as sublime as it is original - a song that tells the story of a cathartic trip to Vietnam in a raw way. "Hanoï" navigates between world music and French chanson, a piece that revives travel memories, the desire of a Parisian to leave everything and the unbearable dilemma of separation from the city of Light, a strong text and poetic echoing a whole generation.   "Hanoï you betrayed me, I am leaving you for Paris. Beautiful Paris, Paris you see, I am faithful."   What immediately catches you when listening to "Hanoï" is the cradle of Jon Luz's cavaquinho and Pedro Loch's acoustic guitar arpeggios. But quickly, this soothing, beautiful voice arrives and Marie Minet conquers us immediately. Listening to her is a journey, and in the immense warmth of her voice the sweetness of a bright and transatlantic summer can be perceived, a single that crosses borders, from Paris to the waters of Cape Verde to Hanoï, a ballad of remarkable beauty and elegance. Marie Minet grew up in an environment where music and the arts were everywhere, but gradually renounced this passion in favour of more normative life. Settled in Paris, she ends up getting tired of the frantic pace of the capital and decides to leave everything for Lisbon. Quickly interfering with a community of artists and musicians in the Alfama district, the birthplace of fado, Marie Minet is quickly spotted at Tejo Bar. She is invited to come and record her first single in the studios of Melides Art, a multidisciplinary project dedicated to contemporary art and music, where she is confined last March and recorded her first album Clair Obscur, accompanied by Jon Luz.  A pure product of Lisbon and its vibrant cultural and musical scene, Marie Minet embodies the dream of conversion. Today she sails among a wave of artists and musicians who bridge the gap between African and Portuguese culture (Jon Luz, Dino d'Santiago, Mayra Andrade, Ana Moura). Marie Minet, for her part, combines Lisbon music and its traditional instruments such as the cavaquinho with texts in French, composing music situated between Portuguese culture and French song. Music filled with the colours and contrasts of world music, which shamelessly depicts a story of life, a story of travel, and upsets the boundaries of musical genres by evoking the classics of French song. Following the announcement of a second lockdown in Portugal, Marie decided to go to Ghana to meet the new generation of Afrobeat musicians and producers with whom she reworked her album to give it a more dance and electronic touch. Marie recorded a "Hanoï" Remix with Kel-P (Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Wizkid, Aya Nakamura ...), and recorded songs with Killbeatz (Ed Sheeran, Fuse Odg, Wizkid ...) and Two Bars.
