The Murder Capital Debut Music Video For New Single "Green & Blue" Via The FADER

THE MURDER CAPITAL DEBUT MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE
"GREEN & BLUE" VIA THE FADER
“The Murder Capital are one of those most oddly entertaining prospects – a punk band that can truly instill can’t-look-away levels of captivation.”
-NME

“Cacophonous noise and stage theatrics that could make them stars very, very soon.”
-DIY
Today, The Murder Capital deliver their second single in the form of the 6 minute, "Green & Blue". A tautly wound exercise in both darkness and light, the song has become an early favourite in their lauded live sets and is paired to a striking, foreboding video directed by Ethan Barrett and Tom Gullam. Watch the video via The FADER, who call call it “an epic… there's little air in "Green & Blue," with a steady bass rumble filling the space with an unbearable tension. Icy guitars stab through the murk but only add to the pressure building throughout. James McGovern's imposing vocals then take centre stage as he sings about love and death…”.

A limited 12" of the single will be released June 14th on Human Season Records and is available now for pre-order here.

After a last month that has seen them fill London’s The Electric Ballroom at just 7pm for an opening slot to IDLES, and a series of last minute shows that have swelled through word of mouth, the band will follow the release of their new single with a further UK & European tour starting this week. These dates include three shows at The Great Escape and a London headliner at The Lexington that sold out 6 weeks ahead.

In an age where people and bands overshare by default, The Murder Capital have been doing the opposite. If you wanted to know about The Murder Capital, you had to get to a show and see for yourself. Based on the caustic strength of one live recording of “More Is Less”(watch), and feverish word of mouth from those who have been lucky enough to attend these early gigs, The Murder Capital have built a formidable reputation. In one of their rare interviews so far, the band have stated they are driven by the genuine desire to affect cultural change, and when frontman James McGovern repeats the lyric “the now elapsed ‘round you and me, and it kept us all together” on this, their debut single, you start to believe that they’re capable of achieving just that.
