Today Laibach shares the video for the title track from their forthcoming album, their most pop outing to date. The new album finds Laibach simultaneously celebrating and playfully critiquing our present era of warped reality and gaudy AI copycatting with a collection of undeniably catchy pop that revels in hyper-driven post-modernity: MUSICK is intensely pop, but it’s also intensely Laibach.

Watch the video for “Musick” HERE.

The video was filmed in the Latvian Academy of Sciences, a hyperreal totem of Socialist Classicism and depicts Laibach’s frontman kept alive by the very thing that sickens him: MUSICK. The video is directed by Morten Traavik, who arranged for the band to travel to North Korea and documented it in the film Liberation Day (2016) and directed their 2014 video for “The Whistleblowers,” who explains, “In line with Laibach´s general artistic and philosophical values, we´re aiming for the perfect union of George Orwell and Lady Gaga.”

Co-produced by Richard X (whose credits include Sugababes, Goldfrapp, and New Order), with guest vocals by Ghanaian singer Wiyaala, “Musick” speaks of oversaturation, being sick of music at a time where there is so much of it that we can barely engage. The track also speaks to another kind of sickness: a pathological devotion to music – “an obsession, a kind of drug” – which continues to drive Laibach in this era of oversaturation.

The new album is released on vinyl, CD and digitally on May 1, 2026 on Mute.

The group took a maximalist approach while making the album in their Ljubljana studio. Surrounding themselves with every music-making artefact they could find - from analogue synths to toys to computers stuffed full with sound apps - they invited collaborators from Slovenia and beyond.

Guests on the album each bring new aspects to the Laibach machine and include electro pop producer Richard X, Senidah, one of the region's biggest pop stars, Ghanaian artist Wiyaala, the “Lioness of Africa,” who they first saw in an underground club in Ljubljana, long-time collaborator Donna Marina MårtenssonManca Trampuš, the frontwoman of the Slovenian indie band Koala Voice and Gregor Strasbergar from the band MRFY, one of the most compelling alternative acts in Slovenia.

During the recording, Laibach immersed themselves in a broad spectrum of contemporary music production, from K‑pop and J‑pop to ’90s Eurodance. They explain, “The creative process within the group usually doesn’t begin with the question ‘what genre?’, but rather with ‘what necessity?’ Sometimes it is a political fact, at other times an aesthetic experiment, and at others simply the desire to offer the algorithm something it cannot digest.

So, if today someone thinks we are K-pop newcomers of the year, then we have clearly understood the spirit of the times - although, of course, we are not K-pop (but L-pop).

The tracks on the forthcoming album are formally original, as they emerge from our need to reflect the world. But in reality, the world itself is already a collage of clichés, choruses, and beats. We simply appropriate them and reorganise them.”

As in their previous work, MUSICK sees Laibach take the tools of authoritarianism into their own hands. Their use of algorithmic tricks, AI systems and pop tropes are not simply a critique of the sickness-inducing music industry, but something more radical – an acceptance of the tension between human and machine, and the potential for resistance to the algorithm. Each track adheres to familiar tropes, forms and themes – but this compliance holds the potential for subversion. “The entire album engages directly with this tension,” says Laibach. “The tracks are designed to bypass algorithmic detection, to implant doubt - the most essential virtue of thought - and to reinstate the disruptive, playful folly of the court jester in a system that demands seamless predictability.”

Laibach will embark on the first leg of their MUSICK tour on May 18 in Graz, before travelling through Europe in the summer. The band will host a press conference in Ljubljana on April 16 and, ahead of their tour, will perform a very special “dress rehearsal” in Trbovlje on May 14. RECENT PRAISE FOR LAIBACH:

“Alamut is terrible, frightening, but also pertinent; an expression of power all the more unsettling for its moments of grace and beauty” – The Wire

“Great art in reaction to troubling events is nothing new in the Laibach canon either, though Alamut is almost certainly the most jaw-dropping work they’ve been involved in across a 45-year career and counting.” - The Quietus Album of the Week

“Perfectly, predictably unpredictable” - Electronic Sound (Love is Still Alive EP)

"… stirring, funny and thought provoking" – The Guardian (The Sound of Music)

PRAISE FOR ZOON

"In their brief yet prolific tenure as Zoon, the Toronto-based composer Daniel Monkman has reoriented shoegaze away from an insular, obfuscating aesthetic into a modern form of folk music—a vehicle through which they can tell their story, commune with friends, and catalog the human condition."
-Pitchfork

“The music arrives in dusty, amorphous gusts of sound — sometimes revealing a strummed acoustic guitar, sometimes swelling with tremolo strings, sometimes surrounding Monkman with high, delayed vocals — that make every perception sound fragile and precious.”
-The New York Times

“Bekka Ma'iingan is an album that breathes through time
-Exclaim!

"Perhaps the first thing that strikes you about Daniel Monkman's music is the storytelling."
-The Fader

"Zoon’s music is dreamy, atmospheric and beautifully incorporates traditional elements. There are superficial comparisons to My Bloody Valentine and Yo La Tengo, but Zoon’s sound is distinctively unique, gently psychedelic and highly emotional."
-Post-Punk

"...the experimental Anishinaabe musician weaves the past, present and future together into a symphony of sound, light and storytelling. The results are both moving and kaleidoscopic."
-CBC

"Monkman is the entity behind the atmospheric band Zoon, is on a journey to understand life’s complexities, and uses music to heal, learn, and evolve, all while staying true to being a two-spirit being and carrying on the rich heritage of the Anishinaabe people."
-Quip Mag

"Monkman was once a kid who kept their angst bottled up and tried to pass without notice. Now it’s difficult to look away from their joyful rebellion."
-Range

Today, ZOON the Anishinaabe-Canadian shoegaze project led by Daniel Monkman is announcing the arrival of their highly anticipated third long player, HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL out June 19, 2026 via Paper Bag Records.

Zoongide’ewin, or ZOON—meaning “bravery” and “a strong and fearless heart”—was given to Monkman during a traditional sweat ceremony. Daniel is the second name they use as they move through the world.

To kick off the new era, ZOON is sharing lead single, "One Too Many Nights," (feat. Sam Jr.)  an ethereal and immersive anthem about finding yourself again after a relationship ends. Monkman is joined by Sam Goldberg Jr. (Broken Social Scene) on this vulnerable and cathartic opening track. “One Too Many Nights” (feat Sam Jr.) documents the psychological reordering that follows a breakup and the subtle rewiring of daily ritual and identity. ZOON constantly delivers distinct and unique collaborations at every stage of their career.

As Monkman explains, “When a relationship ends, it’s not just the person you lose it’s the version of yourself that existed beside them. ‘One Too Many Nights’ is about that recalibration. I don’t date often, so when something shifts, it shifts my whole orbit. In that moment, being alone felt like the honest path forward.

Although tracks like, "One Too Many Nights (feat. Sam Jr.)" and "OMNI II" deal with heartbreak and change, HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL is not solely about romantic dissolution. The album interrogates identity formation within unsettling hostility. The title track layers intergenerational recordings of their mother and aunt, who attended the same school decades earlier and were not even allowed off the bus.

On HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOLZOON delivers their most emotionally forensic and compositionally expansive statement to date. The album refracts heartbreak, relapse, racial trauma, and spiritual recalibration through a cosmic moccasin-gaze pop, shaped by memory and tape hiss. The title references their experiences at a school in East Selkirk, Manitoba, where despite its optimistic name they endured racism as one of the only Native students. Pop radio became refuge: early-2000s Top 20 hits blasting through headphones while they stood alone in a field. That contradiction joyful surface, painful sublayer defines the record’s architecture.

"One Too Many Nights" (feat. Sam Jr.) is out March 31st. HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL is out June 19th via Paper Bag Records.

(March 31, 2026) - Brighton’s own Lambrini Girls, the explosive duo of Phoebe Lunny (vocals/guitar) and Selin Macieira (bass), share their new single “Cult of Celebrity.” From its opening guitar lick, the duo’s new song is a relentless, thrashing indictment of the dark underbelly and backdoor dealings of the world’s global elites that has been exposed in recent years. Speaking about their new single, the Lambrini Girls had this to say:

The age old tale, of selling your soul to the devil has been fabled accounts of high society for years. However due to recent events come to light- it turns out that the elite are very much actually, the devil incarnate, baby eating, pedos. What a fucking surprise! They had no souls to sell in the first place.”

From the desk of Lambrini Girls

The single is also accompanied by a music video directed by London-based filmmaker and director Harv Frost (The Last Dinner Party, Laufey).

Renowned as one of the best live bands to come out of the UK in recent memory, Lambrini Girls will be taking their spectacular live show on the road throughout the US and Europe this year. Beginning with a series of headline North American live dates including a show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw, the band will play festivals across the Northern Hemisphere this Summer including Bonnaroo, a Warped Tour stop in DC, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound, Gothenburg’s Way Out West and more.

Lambrini Girls breached the door to global rock consciousness with the raw charisma, barbed humor and combustible shredding of their debut album Who Let The Dogs Out in 2025. Released as an opening musical statement for the year in January last year, the album permeated throughout the rock world, with the band gracing the covers of NOTION, Kerrang!, Paste, and New Noise, with support from the likes of Variety and Pitchfork, who noted the album “rails against misogyny, homophobia… with righteous fury.” They’ve heaped praise and admiration from the likes of Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna, Iggy Pop and Sleater Kinney, and shared stages with IDLES, Amyl & The Sniffers & more.

Detest the “Cult of Celebrity” and check out the single & video above, plus, catch one of the Lambrini Girls live shows this Spring (at your own risk). See the full run of live dates below.

MARCH 31, 2026 [New York, NY] -- When THE CRANBERRIES’ groundbreaking debut EVERYBODY ELSE IS DOING IT, SO WHY CAN’T WE? was released on March 1, 1993, no one suspected that this unassuming band would carry a legacy that would extend three decades. “We come from a small town in Ireland where things like that didn’t happen, so it was fairytale material,” says guitarist Noel Hogan. 33 years later, however, not only has their legacy lingered but it continues to grow. On May 22, 2026, Island/UMe will release the special 33rd Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their premier album in seven configurations with assorted editions offering extra content, including completely new 2026 stereo mixes by the album's original producer, Stephen Street, track-by-track notes from the band, art notes from original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl, assorted remixes, and exciting Spanish reinventions of Linger” (featuring BRATTY) and “Dreams” (featuring ANASOF). See full configuration listings below.

“It seems like it wasn't so long ago because we all have vivid memories of that wonderful time,” says drummer Fergal Lawler. “We went through a few false starts before we finally got to begin recording with [producer] Stephen Street in a cozy little studio, Windmill Lane 2, just off Stephen's Green in Dublin. We knew Steve was going to do a great job of capturing 'The Cranberries sound'.

Having hit the No. 1 spot in both the U.K. and Ireland and selling over six million copies worldwide, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? spawned two Top Ten singles - the debut lead single “Dreams” and its mainstream breakthrough follow-up “Linger” which cemented the band’s position within the rock world. The album highlighted the unique vocal stylings of Dolores O’Riordan (whose untimely passing in 2018 rocked the music industry).

Alongside new stereo mixes by Street and the dreamy remix of “Linger” by CHVRCHES’ Iain Cook added to the expanded editions of the album are special Spanish mixes featuring two of Latin America’s biggest buzz-making artists. The bedroom pop stylings of Mexican artist BRATTY transforms “Linger into a Spanglish-inflected gorgeous ballad that pays special respect to the original. Oaxaca’s ANASOF embraces the ethereal lushness of “Dreams” and reshapes it into a dazzling Latin tribute.

Punctuated by Dolores’ unique and iconic vocals, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? created an indelible mark. Pitchfork hailed “every song on Everybody Else blazes a path towards catharsis…  O’Riordan’s recognition of her own emotional depths is affirming. Every matter of the heart is treated like a butterfly pinned under glass, a quietly complex entity deserving of appreciation for simply managing to once exist in this cruel world.” Rolling Stone noted, “Over ethereal waves of sound, O’Riordan’s enchanting lilt relays her innocent, autobiographical tales of love, lost love and more love.”

Beloved by fans and fellow musicians alike (Michael Stipe once fawned “I couldn’t believe that ‘Linger’ was the first thing Dolores wrote with The Cranberries – what a song!”), their initial popularity gained them opening slots for Duran Duran and R.E.M. Noel concludes, “Flying to L.A. to make a video and Michael Stipe visiting the set; sell-out gigs; limos collecting us from the hotel… we just soaked it all up. The rest of us were happy to hang out in the background, but Dolores really embraced stardom. Everybody talked about how at our early gigs she’d stare at the floor or the ceiling because she was nervous, but she very quickly learned how to fill the stage and work a crowd, no matter how big it was. Dolores had a wildness and an attitude – ‘This is who I am, take it or leave it!’ – which people loved.”
