Nine Inch Nails Wins GRAMMY® Award For Best Rock Song For “AS ALIVE AS YOU NEED ME TO BE"

Out today, TRON Ares: Divergence reimagines the original TRON: Ares soundtrack with 20 songs – a mix of previously unreleased TRON: Ares score material from Nine Inch Nails alongside remixes from ARCA, Mark Pritchard, Boys Noize, Lanark Artefax, Chilly Gonzales, Danny L Harle, Jack Dangers, Pixel Grip, Working Men’s Club, The Dare and Schwefelgelband. See below for track listing. Stream / download TRON Ares: Divergence HERE. The 2-LP vinyl and CD editions are available for pre-order HERE.

TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – featuring all original music created by Nine Inch Nails for the third installment in the groundbreaking TRON film franchise – debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Dance Album charts and in the top five of the Billboard 200 last fall. In the UK, it claimed the top spot on the Official Soundtrack Albums Chart. The soundtrack, which marked the first-ever film score by the pioneering group, is a bracing departure from the acclaimed scores that bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed under their own names, winning two Oscars, three Golden Globes, a GRAMMY® and an Emmy in the process.

Lead single "AS ALIVE AS YOU NEED ME TO BE,” which won a GRAMMY for Best Rock Song., was hailed by The New York Times as “a return to the buzz-bomb synthesizers, stomping march beat, stereo ricochets and gut-wrenching vocals of the band’s heyday.” View the official video HERE.

Earlier this month, Nine Inch Nails launched the second North American leg of their critically acclaimed Peel It Back Tour with shows in such cities as New Orleans, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Washington, DC, Boston, Newark, Montreal, and Hamilton. The run follows last year’s sold-out global tour across Europe, the UK, and North America, which drew more than 450,000 fans and earned widespread praise. The Times, in an opening night review, said, "The show was a revelation — a thrilling onslaught that combined angst, sincerity and a nightmarish otherworldliness…" UPROXX hailed it as “a triumph of sound, obviously, but also sight. It could have been a movie, and Nine Inch Nails were the stars.”

The tour continues tonight with a show in Tulsa, OK at BOK Center before making additional stops in Austin, Las Vegas, San Diego, and more. The run concludes on Monday, March 16, in Sacramento, CA at Golden 1 Center.

Founded in 1988 by Reznor, Nine Inch Nails is widely considered one of the most innovative, influential acts in modern music. Known for fusing industrial, electronic, rock and ambient sounds into emotionally raw and sonically aggressive compositions, the GRAMMY®-winning, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have redefined the boundaries of what mainstream music could be, selling over 20 million records worldwide, including over 11 million albums in the United States alone. Nine Inch Nails was named Live Act of the Year in 2025 by Consequence.

Grace Inspace today has released her new EP Heavy Hair via TODO Records. She's also released a visualizer for this week's single "Blurry," (ft. JDM Global), which received press support from Clash, Dork, Popdust, and more. Previous EP singles "Helium Balloon," "Emergency Contact," "Meteor" (feat. Luna Li), and "Unrivaled," have earned praise from The Line of Best Fit, Brooklyn Vegan, FLOOD, Wonderland, Chorus.fm, The Luna Collective, Ones To Watch, Reverie Magazine, Good Call Music, The Daily Music Report, FEMMUSIC, Buzzbands.la, and others.

Heavy Hair is Grace's best and most personal work to date, a solidifying statement from the rising young songwriter. Each song on the record unearths a side of herself that had been buried or forgotten, forming an introspective journey threaded with both pain and joy. The EP was created alongside her closest friends–virtuosic talent Luna Li, Josh Mehling (of Shelly), and twin brothers Mulherin.

The EP has earned Spotify playlisting on New Music Friday UK, All New Indie, Indie Pop, in addition to editorial playlisting from KEXP, NME, Nina Protocol, and more. Her 2023 EP Sunshine Kid was featured in a Celine ad and earned praise from FLOOD, Clash, The FADER, Coup De Main, and others.

Bringing together their diverse sensibilities resulted in a sound both lush and raw: classic pop grandeur fused with indie grit and the warmth of live instrumentation. At its heart, Heavy Hair is a world of storytelling — equal parts fantasy and satire — where Grace Inspace slips into many different characters, yet always returns to the most honest version of herself.

Grace Inspace Bio:

Grace Inspace Garner has always lived a nomadic life. LA-born and London-bred, she grew up bouncing between places with her itinerant, artist parents. True to her wanderlust spirit, much of her writing happens in an Airstream by the riverbanks of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods in Northern California, where she once spent years among weed farmers, forest rangers, and black bears. The title track of Grace’s last EP Sunshine Kid was featured in a global Celine campaign, and her music has been spotlighted by leading outlets including Clash, The Fader, and Coup De Main.

Her new EP, Heavy Hair, is her most personal work to date. The title comes from a childhood self-portrait she drew of a girl bent under the weight of her own hair — “I told my mum I drew it because my hair felt too heavy with all my thoughts and emotions,” Grace recalls. Each song on the record unearths a side of herself that had been buried or forgotten, forming an introspective journey threaded with both pain and joy.

What makes Heavy Hair even more intimate is the way it was created — with her closest friends. The EP was shaped alongside virtuosic talent Luna Li, Josh Mehling (of Shelly), and twin brothers Mulherin. Parker Mulherin, her partner, not only collaborated on the project but also inspired several of its tracks — the first love songs Grace has ever written.

"I had a dream where a man led me to a brook, peaceful and calm. When he turned his head slightly, I saw the most evil smile imaginable. But when I looked directly at him, it was just the back of his head again. Beauty and horror coexisting in the same space. It felt like hell leaking into something serene. Maybe that’s reality sometimes. And maybe pretending otherwise is a kind of survival."
- Oliver Ackermann

New-York based band A Place To Bury Strangers announce their new rarities album, Rare And Deadly, out April 3rd via Dedstrange, and release the lead single, “Everyone’s The Same.” Following 2024’s Synthesizer, Rare and Deadly cracks open a decade-long vault of raw nerve and sonic chaos from A Place To Bury Strangers. Spanning 2015–2025, this collection of demos, B-sides, abandoned experiments, and forgotten fragments reveals the band at their most unfiltered—caught between breakthrough ideas and beautiful mistakes. Pulled from Oliver Ackermann’s personal archive of late-night recordings, blown-out tapes, and half-finished sessions, these tracks pulse with the unruly energy that has always defined APTBS, but here the interference is closer, the electricity more dangerous, the edges left jagged on purpose.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
Rare and Deadly cracks open a decade-long vault of raw nerve and sonic chaos from A Place To Bury Strangers.

What makes Rare and Deadly truly unprecedented is that every format tells a different story. The CD, cassette, vinyl, and digital editions each feature their own unique tracklisting, a fractured release strategy that is almost unheard of. No single version contains the “complete” album of 25 tracks. Instead, each format becomes its own window into the archive, revealing alternate paths, missing links, and parallel versions of the band’s inner life. It’s a deliberately unstable document: The album shifts depending on how you choose to hear it, mirroring the chaos of its creation. Across these recordings, you can hear the evolution of Ackermann’s restless mind: riffs mutated by malfunctioning pedals; songs born from gear pushed past its limits; delicate melodies overwhelmed by walls of feedback until only their ghosts remain. Some pieces feel like prototypes for future chaos, seeds that later bloomed on studio albums. Others are dead ends— ideas too volatile, too strange, or too personal to ever fit the frame of a proper release. But together they form a secret history of the band, a parallel world of possibilities that existed just outside the spotlight.

Rare and Deadly is less a compilation and more a documentary—an aural snapshot of how sound takes shape before it hardens into something finished. You hear the room, the accidents, the restless experimentation, the immediacy of a moment being captured before it disappears. It’s a reminder that A Place To Bury Strangers has always thrived in this in-between space: the tension between control and collapse, melody and noise, beauty and distortion.
