Oberhofer's brand new collection of songs from his new EP NOTALGIA is out today on Glassnote.

Written and recorded in Brooklyn, the songs continue to show Brad Oberhofer's progression as a songwriter, all the while matched with the catchy hooks and effect driven guitars we have come to love and expect from the band.
The tracks have a sunny quality to them, as Noisey when premiering "You & Me (In The Future)" advised listeners, "do yourself a favor and listen to the track out-of-doors," even though the subject matter for the EP explores much more serious issues.

Brad told Rolling Stone, "When people are addicted to drugs or depressed, they are often sucked into a world that makes it impossible to think beyond sadness or to absorb any emotional support from friends and family." He goes on, "In the past few years, I've lost some friends to things like this. In those situations, there was nothing I could have said to help them. They couldn't have heard me if they'd tried."
Still, despite the heavy themes, the songs still carry the irresistible qualities that make you keep wanting to go back for more. Spin reflected this sentiment when posting "Together Never:" writing, "Oberhofer surveys the gap between twentysomething fatalism and idealism."

The band are about to hit the road again playing a series of shows in East Coast, all dates are below.

MOLD! grows on DVD - May 21

MOLD! grows on DVD - May 21

You Breathe. You Die.

A gloriously gooey tribute to 80s horror and sci-fi like
Street Trash and Night of the Creeps
A classified government project is underway to create a new weapon to combat the drug cartels. That weapon is a fast-growing, genetically engineered strain of mold designed to wipe out coca fields - the only problem is, this MOLD also feeds on human flesh. And when the murderous mildew is mysteriously released in a secret lab, it wages its own war on a group of unsuspecting scientists and military officials, who are forced to fight their way to safety while trying to contain the MOLD before it is unleashed on the world.

MOLD! is produced by Mentally Ill Films and written by Dave Fogerson and co-written by director Neil Meschino and stars Edward X. Young, Ardis Campbell, Robert Fattorini, Chris Gentile, Lawrence George and Rick Haymes. The film won "Best Feature" in the Nevermore Film Festival, and "Best Director" in the Terror Film Festival.

Bonus features include Director's Commentary, Behind the Scenes Featurette, and Trailers.

"MOLD excels with honors" - Aint It Cool News

"SPORE-Tacular!" - Filmbizarro.com

"[This} slimy 80s throwback is the disease you want to catch." - Bloody-Disgusting.com

Still Corners To Join Chvrches’ As Direct Support On North American Tour

Still Corners To Join Chvrches’ As Direct Support On North American Tour
May 28th-June 23rd
Watch Still Corners “Berlin Lovers” video now

Previously announced Still Corners NA headlining dates
(May 27th-June 13th) are cancelled
‘Strange Pleasures’ out May 6th in UK & Europe
and May 7th in North America on Sub Pop

London-based duo Still Corners have just been added as direct support to Glaswegian band Chvrches’ North American headlining tour, which currently begins May 28th in Portland, OR at Wonder Ballroom and ends on June 23rd in  Philadelphia, PA at Union Transfer.  In lieu of this new tour,  Still Corners’ US and Canadian dates for May and June have been cancelled (refunds available at point of purchase). Meanwhile, the bands previously announced UK trek kicks-off on May 3rd in Liverpool at Sound City and ends May 11th in Bristol at Louisiana. Please find an updated tour schedule below.

Still Corners recently released a new video for “Berlin Lovers”, the lead single from their forthcoming album, Strange Pleasures.  The clip, directed Christian Sorensen Hansen, features band members Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray as employees of a roller skating rink, where a young couple meets and falls in love.  SPIN says of the clip, “Their 2011 Sub Pop debut Creatures of an Hour was a lovely excursion into cinematic soundcraft, but the forthcoming Strange Pleasures, feels both more intimate and more boldly constructed. First taste, "Berlin Lovers," is a fantastic example, combining progressive synth-work with crisp drums for a feeling not unlike a Kavinsky track, while placing Murray's high and breathy vocals in the forefront so that there's no question why we're here: to sit with her story of a memorable encounter between two young people, "almost a man, almost a woman...The accompanying video plays like a pleasant little dream as a teenage couple meets at a roller rink operated by Still Corners' main players. Cue the smoke machines” (see video premiere April 3).

Stereogum also had this to say, “Plenty of music videos shoot for sweetness; very few actually achieve it. But in this one, the teenage girl looks like a badass until the precise moment where she looks like a little lost kid. The teenage boy looks like a gawky awkward fuck until the precise moment where he looks like a viable love interest. The two grown-ups in Still Corners look like kind, approving elders both before and after their transformation into glamorous pop stars. The fog comes in at the exact right moment. It’s lovely, all of it” (see “5 Best Videos of the Week” April 5).

Still Corners’ Strange Pleasures, the follow up to Creatures Of An Hour, the band’s acclaimed 2011 debut,  will be available on May 6 in Europe and May 7 in North America via Sub Pop. The album will be available on CD, LP and digitally, and is led by the single “Berlin Lovers” as well as highlights “Beginning to Blue”, “Future Age,” “Beatcity,” and the previously released album teaser, “Fireflies”.  Strange Pleasures was produced by band leader Greg Hughes at his Greenwich studio in London. Please find a full tracklisting below.

More on Still Corners' Strange Pleasures:
Riding that insatiable kinesis over the last two years has resulted in Hughes, along with singing accomplice Tessa Murray, fashioning a devastating sophomore album, Strange Pleasures, which is surely destined to usher Still Corners to a deserved place at cerebral dream-pop’s high table. Where its predecessor soared on sugared layers of shoegazing-infused retro-futurism, Strange Pleasures proffers a leaner, more acute extrapolation of ’80s-suffused song and studio craft, navigating a sinuous trajectory between velveteen Angelo Badalamenti noir-pop torch song sophistication and ethereal Cocteau Twins beauty, with exquisite meanders through the glacial but mellifluous territory first mapped by Modern English, The Cure and The Passions, with nods along the way to cool, graceful detachment a la ’80s Euro avant-poppers such as Bernthøler and Virna Lindt (read more at Sub Pop).

What people are saying about Still Corners':
"Another dreamy, widescreen pop gem" - [“Berlin Lovers” Track Post] Gorilla Vs. Bear
""[Fireflies] is their most immediate and starry-eyed song to date, navigating through gorgeously empty terrain dotted with cymbal washes and gently pulsing synth tones.  It's their most immediate and starry-eyed song to date.” - [“Fireflies”/"Best New Track”] Pitchfork
“...Full of the band’s signature dreaminess.” - [“Fireflies”] Under The Radar
“...A wonderful surprise” - [“Fireflies”] Refinery 29

Dreambuilding 7” from Swedish band Goat

Sub Pop to release Dreambuilding 7” from Swedish band Goat on June 4th, 2013
Stream Dreambuilding via Pitchfork
Sub Pop is proud to spread the mystical power of Goat throughout North America with the double-A-sided ”Dreambuilding”/”Stonegoat” 7”, out June 4th on Sub Pop Records. This is Goat’s first North American release, and comes hot on the heels of the bands 2012’s critically-acclaimed, import-only psychedelic opus, World Music.
Stream Dreambuilding now via Pitchfork, who had this to say about the track: “Dreambuilding,” the first side of a forthcoming 7” single, finally spotlights that concision, as it lands its chant-along hook, a brilliant crybaby riff and a shake-it-out drum break in less than three cycles of the clock. What’s most impressive, though, is that Goat actually does all of this in the song’s first half, leaving the back half of the track open for a guitar solo that’s so gnarly, damaged and great that you might wish the side of vinyl went on forever.
Goat will kick off a 10 date US tour starting next tuesday in Brooklyn, with performances at this years Psych rock fest in Austin Texas. See below for a full list of dates. Pre-order this Psych gem by clicking here.
This release will also be available as a very-limited 12” in Scandinavia on Record Store Day (4/20) via Stranded Records, and on June 3rd in Europe via Rocket Recordings.
More about Goat:
Goat are a collective who hail from a small and very remote village in deepest darkest Sweden.
Legend has it that, for centuries, the inhabitants of the village were dedicated to the worship and practices of Voodoo. This strange and seemingly-unlikely activity was apparently introduced into the area after a travelling witch doctor and a handful of her disciples were led to the village by following an unknown Sami traveller from this area of Sweden.
The reason he led them there is unknown, but their Voodoo influence quickly took hold over the whole village, and so they made it their home. There they were able to practice their craft unnoticed and unbothered for several centuries.
This was until their non-Christian ways were discovered by the Church and they were burned out by the crusaders. But the survivors returned to the village, rebuilt it, and to this day the now-picturesque village is still influenced by the power of Voodoo; this power can be felt throughout the grooves of the Goat records.
Tour Dates:
April 23- Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall of Williamsburg (SOLD OUT)
April 24 - Philadelphia, PA - Johnny Brenda's
April 25 - Washington, DC - Black Cat Backstage
