LIARS “The Exact Color of Doubt”

In the run up to a series of live dates in the US and Europe, LIARS - Angus Andrew, Julian Gross and Aaron Hemphill - have premiered a brand new video for “The Exact Color Of Doubt” from their critically acclaimed album, WIXIW.
Director Markus Wambsganss, who collaborated with Liars on Drum’s Not Dead, has described the video as “3D Screen Test Scans in the Villa Straylight”, and explains that this is “a continuation of what the band and I started together with ‘The Other Side Of Mt. Heart Attack’, this time using a hacked Kinect sensor to scan their upper bodies to match the more digital feel of WIXIW”.
The video is also up for a MuVi Award, the FIRST festival award for music videos from Germany. Be sure to cast your vote HERE before May 3rd!
This May as a part of the Wordless Music Series, Liars will be playing two very special shows in New York in May. The first show on May 18th will take place at The Temple of Dendur At The Metropolitan Museum Of Artand feature multi-media and site-specific surprises as part of the MET’s "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" exhibit. For more information on this sold out show head to the MET's website.  In case you missed snagging tickets for that show be sure to grab yours for the band’s Brooklyn Masonic Templeperformance on the 19th.Tickets are still available here.  The band also has tour dates in Barcelona for Primavera Sound and Sónar’s 20th Anniversary (full details below, more European and US dates to be announced).
Self-produced, with additional production from Daniel Miller and mixed by Tom Biller, WIXIW is an album that is hard to shake, tough to pin down, and impossible to get out of one’s head even after an initial listen.
Simultaneously the most accessible and most challenging release from these iconoclasts, it is both a summation of Liars’ work up to now, and a complete break from anything you’d ever heard the band do previously.

IO ECHO "Ministry Of Love"

Io Echo's brilliant debut album Ministry of Love is out today in North America!  The band has been working hard on this album for the past couple of years and we're excited to finally be able to release it.  This has been a busy year for Io Echo, after touring with Bloc Party earlier this year, and the band currently being on the road with iconic '90s alt outfit Garbage.  After the tour is done, they'll be playing Coachella in a couple of weeks, and then following that up with a tour supporting The Joy Formidable.  We're also excited to announce that Io Echo will be playing Lollapalooza this year (August 2-4 in Chicago).
Ministry of Love, drawing from early '90s industrial, hazy pop and Eastern Classical orchestration (Japanese Koto and Chinese violin), has garnered accolades from NPR, Interview, Nylon, Stereogum, Paper, Dazed & Confused and many more.  Be on the lookout for a video for the title track soon, and until then you can watch the video for "When The Lilies Die" here.
They've succeeded in doing something that so many bands have tried, but failed to do: invent a completely new sound.- NYLON

Still Corners’ Premieres Video For Strange Pleasures

Still Corners’ Premieres Video For Strange Pleasures
Lead Single “Berlin Lovers”
Announces North American Tour Dates
Video Premiere With SPIN.com
Previously Announced UK Tour Dates May 3-11
Watch “Berlin Lovers” video here.
Download “Berlin Lovers” MP3 here.
London-based duo Still Corners have premiered a new video for “Berlin Lovers”, the lead single from their forthcoming album, Strange Pleasures, with SPIN.com. The clip, directed Christian Sorensen Hansen, features band members Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray as employees of a roller skating rink, where a young couple meets and falls in love.  SPIN says of the clip, “Their 2011 Sub Pop debut Creatures of an Hour was a lovely excursion into cinematic soundcraft, but the forthcoming Strange Pleasures, feels both more intimate and more boldly constructed. First taste, "Berlin Lovers," is a fantastic example, combining progressive synth-work with crisp drums for a feeling not unlike a Kavinsky track, while placing Murray's high and breathy vocals in the forefront so that there's no question why we're here: to sit with her story of a memorable encounter between two young people, "almost a man, almost a woman...The accompanying video plays like a pleasant little dream as a teenage couple meets at a roller rink operated by Still Corners' main players. Cue the smoke machines” (see video premiere April 3).
Still Corners have scheduled North American tour dates in support of Strange Pleasures. The tour begins on May 27th in Phoenix, AZ at Crescent Ballroom and ends on June 14th in Toronto, ON at NXNE.   This is in addition to the bands previously announced UK trek that kicks-off on May 3rd in Liverpool at Sound City and ends May 11th in Bristol at Louisiana. Please find an updated tour schedule below.
Still Corners’ Strange Pleasures, the follow up to Creatures Of An Hour, the band’s acclaimed 2011 debut,  will be available on May 6 in Europe and May 7 in North America via Sub Pop. The album will be available on CD, LP and digitally, and is led by the single “Berlin Lovers” as well as highlights “Beginning to Blue”, “Future Age,” “Beatcity,” and the previously released album teaser, “Fireflies”.  Strange Pleasures was produced by band leader Greg Hughes at his Greenwich studio in London. Please find a full tracklisting below.
More on Still Corners' Strange Pleasures:
Riding that insatiable kinesis over the last two years has resulted in Hughes, along with singing accomplice Tessa Murray, fashioning a devastating sophomore album, Strange Pleasures, which is surely destined to usher Still Corners to a deserved place at cerebral dream-pop’s high table. Where its predecessor soared on sugared layers of shoegazing-infused retro-futurism, Strange Pleasures proffers a leaner, more acute extrapolation of ’80s-suffused song and studio craft, navigating a sinuous trajectory between velveteen Angelo Badalamenti noir-pop torch song sophistication and ethereal Cocteau Twins beauty, with exquisite meanders through the glacial but mellifluous territory first mapped by Modern English, The Cure and The Passions, with nods along the way to cool, graceful detachment a la ’80s Euro avant-poppers such as Bernthøler and Virna Lindt (read more at Sub Pop).
What people are saying about Still Corners' “Berlin Lovers”:
"Another dreamy, widescreen pop gem" -  Gorilla Vs. Bear
“Tessa Murray’s ethereal vocals are trance-inducing; the song runs under two minutes, but sounds as if it could loop on into some dreamy eternity.” - Stereogum
“…Compellingly strange, endlessly relistenable strobelit pop that in a different world might be inescapable on Top 40 radio.” - Pretty Much Amazing
“Continuing to challenge themselves, the band are able to move forward without losing sight of the flavours which made their debut so seductive.” - Clash
“…Pure, infectious pop.” - Paper Mag

Tera Melos share another song from forthcoming album

Tera Melos share another song from forthcoming album
North American tour dates with TTNG starting in April

Listen to "Bite"
Tera Melos

Sacramento's genre-benders Tera Melos premiere a third new song from their forthcoming album, X'ed Out today via innovative art site The Fox Is Black. The song, "Bite" is available to stream/share HERE

Tera Melos also launch extensive North American tour dates with Sargent House label mates, Britain's This Town Needs Guns (now simply called TTNG) later this month. Tera Melos will be supporting X'ed Out, as will TTNG promote their new full length 13.0.0.0.0. Please see complete dates below and specific details (tickets, times, etc) for the shows HERE.

Tera Melos also recently premiered songs from X'ed Out via Rolling Stone, Noisey and Pitchfork. The track "Tropic Lame" is available for streaming/sharing HERE and "Sunburn" is available HERE

Truly great art is that which can't be easily understood and dissected, but immediately resonates nonetheless. Tera Melos' new full length, X'ed Out is just that kind of adventure. The songs transcend in a way that makes you want to sit friends down to hear it, not only to share the experience, but perhaps in hopes that together you can create the world in which songs like this can be defined. It hits mental buttons and flicks internal switches that you never knew existed, while cleverly obscuring the technical precision for which the band has been known. It's remarkably multifaceted, incredibly catchy and perplexing to unravel exactly how it all works.

"It's like visiting a friend who lives on the 14th floor of a building with no elevator, yet he has a grand piano in his apartment," explains bassist Nathan Latona. "How did he get it there? Was it carried up 14 flights of stairs, assembled on site or what? This record is the piano in the apartment with no elevator. We wanted to do all of the tricky stuff in a way that doesn't seem noticeable."

X'ed Out is the culmination of an arc begun on Tera Melos' first proper full-length, Patagonian Rats (Sargent House, 2010) -- a supercollider of 60s pop hooks, Minutemen garage-prog, post-punk evisceration, wiry psychedelia and nearly everything else in-between. Here, the Sacramento based trio burns and simmers simultaneously while situated somewhere without benefit of location services. It's a nowhere land, X'ed Out of the grid, both inviting and daring. Join us.

X'ed Out will be available everywhere April 16th, 2013 on LP, CD and download via Sargent House

The Veils “Dancing With The Tornado”

The Veils

“Dancing With The Tornado” MP3 Drops w/ SPIN!

Time Stays, We Go Out April 23rd,
North American Tour Kicks Off April 20th

Frontman Finn Andrews posseses Nick Cave-like charisma, and the London five-piece has an impeccable sense of timing.” -- SPIN

…fiery and anthemic…” -- BrooklynVegan

The Veils have announced their return with their highly-anticipated fourth album, Time Stays, We Go. Recorded at Seedy Underbelly Studios in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, the album was produced by lead singer/songwriter Finn Andrews and Adam Greenspan (Divine Fits, Arcade Fire.) The band tempted seminal English producer Bill Price (The Clash, Jesus & Mary Chain) out of retirement to mix the record to tape at Metropolis Studios in London, lending the album a rich, analogue sound rarely heard in popular music today. Marking the beginning of a captivating new era for a band, Time Stays, We Go is due out April 23rd via Pitch Beast Records and is available for pre-order now.

Album track “Dancing With The Tornado” is an upbeat, energetic cut that showcases Finn’s raw, dynamic vocals twisting and turning above driving percussion and dancing guitar lines. You can download the “Dancing With The Tornado” MP3 where it premiered with SPIN or HERE, and we encourage you to post & share.

First single “Through The Deep, Dark Wood” opens the album with a driving rhythm and palpable electric energy. “The Pearl” plays up Finn’s lush, expressive drawl with a simple melody and somber undertones. “Turn From The Rain” is full of bright, lively instrumentation that plays up the song’s message of hope and perseverance. Album closer “Out From The Valley & Into The Stars” is a heartbreakingly stunning ballad that builds to an explosive climax, leaving listeners wanting more.

Time Stays, We Go shows The Veils at the very height of their creative powers so far, deftly combining two distinct sides of their personality. The band will kick off a North American tour in April—be sure to catch them live in your city, and stay tuned for more from The Veils coming soon!

THE BLACK ANGELS' INDIGO MEADOW OUT TODAY

THE BLACK ANGELS' INDIGO MEADOW OUT TODAY

ALBUM NAMED AN ITUNES EDITORS' CHOICE

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS APRIL 4

Photo: Angel Ceballos

Blue Horizon is excited to announce that The Black Angels are releasing their new record, Indigo Meadow, today, April 2nd. iTunes selected the album as an Editors' Choice and is also featuring the lead single "Don't Play With Guns" in a free track promotion. The Associated Press said, "Imagine tossing bands from the pantheon of American psychedelia like The Electric Prunes, Count Five, 13th Floor Elevators and The Seeds into your blender, adding a splash of Sabbath and a dollop of early Soundgarden or Mudhoney, and you've got Austin's The Black Angels. On Indigo Meadow, these Texans keep this elixir swirling. Their fourth album is modern psychedelia, true to the earlier form, with all the weird, hypnotic, fuzzy guitar sounds and dirgelike keyboards, only really well produced." Relix hailed, "Hyperinventive when it counts, the Angels aren't just mimicking a late '60s garage sound - they're bending, stretching and molding it in their own image."

The Black Angels' (Christian Bland - guitar, drone machine/organ; Alex Maas - vocals, bass, organ, drone machine; Stephanie Bailey - drums, percussion; Kyle Hunt - keyboards, percussion, bass, guitar) most revelatory collection thus far, Indigo Meadow marks the Austin, Texas-based band's fourth full-length release, following 2010's acclaimed Phosphene Dream. Once again The Black Angels prove themselves the undisputed avatars of contemporary psychedelic rock, simultaneously exalting the genre's kaleidoscopic past as they thrust it ever further into the future.

Now a quartet, the band - with the able support of producer John Congleton (David Byrne & St. Vincent, Clinic, Explosions In The Sky) - have brought new focus to their wide-ranging songcraft, their righteous riffs and dogmatic drones gaining increased power as they fuel a more expansive emotional trajectory.
Founded in 2004, The Black Angels have been the spearhead of the post-millennial psychedelic movement, picking up the mantle of their hometown's long lysergic history and reinvigorating it with progressive political commentary and unrestrained creativity and ambition.  Long hailed for their monumental live sets, The Black Angels will celebrate the arrival of Indigo Meadow with a major North American tour, set to get underway April 4th at Athens, GA's Georgia Theatre and then ends May 26th at San Antonio, TX's White Rabbit.  Support comes from a stellar line-up of lysergically like-minded artists, including Allah-Las, Elephant Stone, Hanni El Khatib, and Wall of Death.

Led Zeppelin: Sound And Fury By Neal Preston
Now Available for Pre-Order Exclusively on the iBookstore

Digital Book Takes the Medium to New Heights,
Offering Never Before Seen Photos, Memorabilia and More

Led Zeppelin: Sound And Fury, an innovative illustrated digital book by famed photographer Neal Preston, is available now for pre-order and will be released exclusively on the iBookstore on April 15 for a price of $9.99. The book comes alive with a tap, swipe or pinch and provides an unprecedented and comprehensive look into the world of Led Zeppelin, one of rock's most iconic bands. Through Preston's lens the reader experiences hundreds of photos (over 100 of whichhave never been seen before), 80 contact sheets (all previously unpublished), audio commentary from Preston, video and text interviews with people who worked with the band, and even memorabilia and set lists for concerts whose photos are featured in the book.

Created with Apple's digital book creation app, iBooks Author, this Multi-Touch experience on iPad is unprecedented in its visual style and layout, letting the reader explore never-before-seen shots of Led Zeppelin and join them not only on stage, but also backstage. Led Zeppelin: Sound And Fury contains an intro by Stevie Nicks and has contributions from bands like My Chemical Romance, Heart, Mastodon and many more.

No photographer was granted the access to Led Zeppelin that Neal Preston had. Any photo of the band from the post-1973 era familiar to fans is probably one of Preston's images. Led Zeppelin: Sound And Fury immerses you in the band's inner circle with brilliant on-stage performance photos, backstage candid shots, intimate images from onboard the band's two private planes, as well as snapshots from press conferences, movie premieres, private band parties and more.

Neal Preston's career began when he was still in high school and continues today. His photographs have appeared in every conceivable media outlet: on the covers and in the pages of world-class magazines and newspapers, to books, television shows, feature films, Broadway show programs and billboards, vinyl, CD and DVD packages; almost literally everywhere. His client list is a virtual who's-who of rock royalty including The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Queen and Fleetwood Mac. His archive, a body of work spanning almost four decades, is regarded as one of the music industry's most extensive and significant photo collections. Preston's archive was the key source of photographs for VH1's acclaimed Behind the Music documentary series, providing over one thousand still photos used in 50 episodes. In 1985, Preston was chosen as one of the official photographers for Bob Geldof's Live Aid concert at London's Wembley Stadium. In 1988, his association with Bruce Springsteen helped land him the job as official tour photographer for Amnesty International's landmark ''Human Rights Now!'' tour.
