“For newcomers to the trio, ZZZ was a concise but well-rounded introduction to their combination of hip-hop, soul and funk...the classic soul, funk and hip-hop vibes of ‘Brk Frm Nrml’ are a pretty good indicator of what we can expect from Added Sugar when it drops.” - Complex

“Throughout the past several years Montreal has established itself as a hotbed for experimental production talent...Among those making their way to the forefront of the movement are Planet Giza...one of the city's most notable rising acts...creating a sound nestled somewhere in between funk, disco, hip-hop, and trap.” - Noisey

“Planet Giza could be the next big thing out of Montreal" - Hypebeast

“[Kaytranada’s] Planet Giza collaboration, ‘Domina,’ offers fans a touch of that hallmark house touch, ripe and ready for the dance floor.” - Okayplayer

“…phenomenally creative future funk.” – Clash

“…a cohesive, endlessly charming sound.” – The 405

Montreal hip-hop/producer trio Planet Giza - comprised of Rami B, Tony Stone and Dumix - release the music video for “Ace Boogie Energy” today. The track is taken from their latest project Added Sugar, which was released earlier this year and features collaborations with the likes of Mick Jenkins and a co-produced Kaytranada song. Check out the Touchemoipas-directedPaid In Full-inspired music video now via Highsnobiety HERE.

In addition to producing their own music, Planet Giza recently produced the unreleased track “Ridd” by Goldlink, which was performed live earlier this week exclusively on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Watch the performance HERE.
Planet Giza have released a series of projects over the last couple of years, most recently 2018’s ZZZ EP. They effortlessly weave elements of hip-hop, soul and funk into a concoction which nods to the past but has it sights firmly set on the future, with the trio able to reflect their multi-cultural backgrounds through this repertoire of varied sounds. They attribute this to the diverse community of their hometown of Montreal, as well as their widely-varying musical influences: from Lil Boosie and Madlib, to Roy Ayers and Michael Jackson. They easily sit alongside contemporaries such as The Internet, Kaytranada (who they’ve collaborated with on 2017’s “Domina”) and Goldlink.

Their latest project Added Sugar is Planet Giza’s most versatile yet. Offering something effortlessly polished, smooth R&B textures and perfectly delivered bars, this genre-defying blend of funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop and a dash of electronica is bound to put them on the map as one of 2019’s most exciting music-makers.
