Early praise for Ellis:
“‘The Drain’ is the sort of song you could imagine being just as captivating when blown up with an orchestra or stripped down to acoustic guitar—the rare track that manages to feel both triumphant and achingly intimate.”
Pitchfork

“Mazzy Star and Slowdive are part of [Frostbite's] constellation, two points of light in a deep personal pain as clear and as desolate as rarefied winter air.” - The FADER

“The effectiveness of Ellis’ sad, dreamy indie rock is that every feeling, every motive behind the feeling, is one you’ve inevitably dealt with at some point. It’s presented not cleanly or neat but rather simple and pointed; a matter-of-fact phrase wrapped around a beating, aching heart.” - Noisey
“[One of] a new generation of guitar-centric bands who quickly proved themselves to be exciting songwriters...a swooning, hazy piece of music, capturing the lure of those early relationship stages.”
Stereogum

Ellis - the music project of Ontario’s Linnea Siggelkow, or L.S. - recently signed to Fat Possum, who will release her critically acclaimed debut EP The Fuzz physically for the first time on March 22nd. In anticipation of the EP’s physical release, Ellis shares a gorgeous new track today entitled “Something Blue.” "I think everyone has a moment that they wish they could time-travel back to and have a do-over. This song is about mine,” Ellis explains. “Hindsight can be a real bitch." Listen to the song, premiering via NPR Music’s All Songs ConsideredHERE or stream HERE.
Ellis will play a handful of shows for the release of The Fuzz, including dates in NYC, Chicago,LondonToronto, her SXSW debut in Austin, and more. See below to find a show near you.
Ellis, the daughter of a traveling book salesman and a piano teacher, crafts music with a faint voice, a fervent guitar, and lyrics that are effortlessly and simultaneously vulnerable and bold. Built from simple instrumentation, the six-track release showcases Siggelkow's full-formed artistic vision and deft songwriting skills, making for a singular statement from a young, up-and-coming artist who is poised for a reception that equals the scope of her remarkable talent.

Having already made her mark as a solo performer in her local DIY scene, Ellis evolved from a solo project into a 4-piece band in 2018, inspiring a grittier take on the same solemn refrain. In November 2018 she released her anticipated debut EP, The Fuzz. The EP arrived following several months of excitement building behind Ellis, who, after generating buzz in her local scene on the back of opening stints with the likes of Soccer MommyGabby's World, Chastity,Palehound, and Free Cake For Every Creature, garnered international acclaim with the release of a series of singles, earning comparisons to Mazzy Star, Alvvays and Slowdive.
