Preoccupations Release Video For "Decompose"

PREOCCUPATIONS RELEASE VIDEO FOR “DECOMPOSE”

NEW MATERIAL OUT NOW VIA JAGJAGUWAR
Preoccupations today release a live video for the song “Decompose” which was filmed at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. Directed by Evan Henderson and shot on film which had been boiled for 2 weeks in a salt water brine prior to filming, the video shows the intensity and energy Preoccupations live shows are known for. All dates are listed below including more US dates later this year which includes Desert Daze Festival alongside Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Death Grips and more.

The band have just finished an eventful tour of North America where they were robbed not once, but twice, having all of their instruments and gear stolen. Miraculously, they were able to finish the remaining dates borrowing instruments from friends and support acts. The tour ended on a positive note with the band reaching their goal set on GoFundMe, raising funds to help replace their gear, donated by fans and supporters everywhere. The European leg of the tour starts this week.

Their latest album New Material released earlier this year received rave reviews and cemented them as one of the most exciting and innovative bands making music right now.

Acclaim for New Material

"And, it’s miles beyond what anyone would label as post-punk, or what could easily be labeled at all. This is not just “new material” as the title suggests, but it’s a whole new universe for Preoccupations, and one that might be impossible for them to top.” - Uproxx

The band’s third full-length is an easier and more melodic entry into their spindly post-punk. Here, their defeatism takes on a new tenor: battle-worn, sincere, and not quite so antagonistic. - Pitchfork

""A wonder of a modern post-punk record, rife with icy, industrial edges and glistening, kaleidoscopic innards.” - Billboard

"Most cohesive album yet, full of studio experimentaion” - Consequence Of Sound

"Their command of the genre's signifiers and traditions remains unparalleled;” - Under The Radar

"The influences aren’t too hard to guess, but Preoccupations re-purpose old sounds in a way that make them sound like the work of no other band, and the passion in their delivery is so strong that you won’t be thinking much about influences anyway.” -Brooklyn Vegan

"It’s dark and grinding, but still so danceable” - Paste
