JORJA SMITH SHARES NEW OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR "BLUE LIGHTS"

DEBUT ALBUM LOST & FOUND OUT JUNE 8th 2018; PRE-ORDER HERE

SOLD OUT US TOUR; NEW YORK SHOW MAY 12th AT BROOKLYN STEEL

Currently in the midst of her third sold-out US tour, which included an outstanding debut appearance at Coachella - breakout star Jorja Smith has today shared the beautiful new black and white video to her debut, and now spotlighted single "Blue Lights." The stunning visual, shot by photographer Olivia Rose in Jorja's hometown of Walsall, features an all-male cast, some of whom are recognizable to the local area.
"I wanted to capture men/boys of Walsall and Birmingham from all different walks of life doing everyday activities to show that the stereotypes we are bombarded with are misleading and, ultimately, harmful. I chose Walsall as the setting for the video as that is where I am from and where I drew my inspiration from when writing the song." states Jorja.

Speaking on the making of the video, Olivia Rose describes the "mad turnaround - I ended up in Walsall a few times in one week, scouting locations and cast members. What's really beautiful is that a lot of the cast and places are authentically related back to Jorja - her dad, the boys who inspired the song, the park where she hung out as a teenager, the owner of the restaurant where she had her first gig."
Beautiful both in its meaning and aesthetically, the new video for "Blue Lights" is a true ode to The Midlands. Rose continues
"we wanted to include talent in the cast too, without them feeling like cameos - if you're paying attention, you'll spot the poet Benjamin Zephaniah, musicians Jaykae, Despo, Mist and Mike Skinner, and producer Preditah who worked with Jorja on "On My Mind"."

The new video comes in the build up to the release of Jorja's debut album Lost & Found, which is set for global release on June 8th (distributed globally by The Orchard, outside of France). The rich fruit of Jorja's past two years of work and an artistic statement, her debut offering intertwines a playfully infectious pop spirit, with her youthful charisma, idiosyncratic storytelling, and informed opinions - attributes that have set her apart from her peers and seen her become one of the UK's most-loved female-breakthrough stars of recent years.

With a BRIT Award win, millions of streams and a plethora of front covers under her belt - all achieved in just two years -
Jorja Smith 's rise to stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. Bursting onto the scene in 2016 with her critically acclaimed debut single "Blue Lights", Jorja was subsequently tipped for success by many publications including The FADER, i-D Magazine, The Guardian,Pitchfork and many more. In 2017, Jorja, went on to support mega-star Bruno Mars on the US-leg of his world tour, collaborated with global lyricist Drake ('More Life') and also co-wrote 'I Am' - her solo single on the #1 Black Panther soundtrack - with the man himself, Kendrick Lamar.

Kicking-off 2018 as BRITs Critics' Choice winner, she followed with her sensational single "Let Me Down"; a stunning, frank, and honest track which featured an emotion-filled rap from British MC Stormzy. Shortly after, Jorja embarked on her third sold-out 8-date UK tour which concluded with two Shepherds Bush Empire dates, all reviewed to critical acclaim.

Jorja Smith's debut album, Lost & Found, will be available worldwide on June 8th, 2018.
