Singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist G Flip today releases her second single "Killing My Time". A hook-filled and inescapably catchy pop statement, "Killing My Time" backs up the promise shown on G Flip's debut release 'About You' which received global attention, hitting number nineteen on the Spotify Global Chart and garnering support from the likes of Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1 and Zane Lowe at Beats 1.

"Killing My Time" is a sharp-edged, glistening pop cut with a summer-ready beat and shimmering synth, showing off G Flip's skills as a vocalist and songwriter as well as a remarkable producer. "The story behind "Killing My Time" revolves around a girl who kept distracting me from making music," says G Flip. "It was hard to escape and be productive so I inevitably ended up breaking up with her because I wanted to focus.

On Monday, G Flip visited the offices of Billboard in NYC to perform a stripped-down live session on Facebook.

G Flip aka Georgia Flipo earlier this year uploaded her debut single to triple j's Unearthed website. Since then it's been bumped to high rotation on radio stations around the world including spins on KCRWKEXP, The Current and more. The song has amassed millions of streams and caught the attention of music critics with Esquire naming "About You" one of the Best Love Songs of 2018 (So Far)and Pitchfork giving it a Best New Track writing "Flipo's smooth, multi-tracked vocals can make her sound like all three Haim sisters at once, but the way she builds a rock-solid pop song out of a simple, juicy synth riff aligns her more closely to Grimes. If it took a few albums for Grimes to go right for the throat in her hooks, though, G Flip is already there."

She also spoke with  Pigeons and Planes who hail "About You" as "one of the best debuts we've heard in 2018 so far." You can read the interview in full here

More about G Flip

At school G Flip was known as "that drummer girl"; from Year 8 on, she spent every spare moment with her drum teacher, who was, like her, young, queer and female.
When her teacher died suddenly at 30 years of age, it drove a devastated Georgia to go hard after the dreams they'd talked about in those long hours at school: tour the US, be "that drummer girl who sings" and eventually, make her own music. After hitting the road across the US and Asia playing drums in a touring band, she realised she'd taken other people's music as far as she could. Soon after, she headed back to Melbourne and set up a bedroom studio in a suburban sharehouse.

In the afternoons and evenings, Georgia taught drums and piano to kids in order to support herself. But from 9.30am to 4.30pm every day of 2017, she taught herself; how to produce her own songs, how to tease out the melodies she hummed into her phone's voice memo app and how to find her own voice after years of performing other people's songs. 'About You' is the first taste of those efforts. In 2018, she's out of her bedroom, and she's all in.
