Debut Album Out Now, Music Written & Composed by Sébastien Tellier

Iconic burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese has released the video for the song “Sparkling Rain” today via Apple Music. The track appears on her self-titled debut album, out now via the Parisian label Record Makers. Music on the album was written and composed bySébastien Tellier. Watch “Sparkling Rain” via Apple Music here.

Like a dream sequence in a feature film, this video directed by David Wilson (who has shot for Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire or Tame Impala) shows Dita Von Teese in her classic 50s Hollywood beauty role ambiguously playing with Sebastien Tellier. It is voluntarily simple and exquisite, with a touch of Tellier’s signature comedy situations. We now can watch this Gainsbourg / Birkin inspired duet play their game!

Recorded in Sydney, Los Angeles and Paris, “Dita Von Teese” owes much to the talents of composer Sébastien Tellier, the singing of Dita Von Teese and the art of two instrumentalists — the programmer and keyboard player, John Kirby, famous for his work with Blood Orange, Money Mark and Solange, and Daniel Stricker, the drummer of the Australian group the Midnight Juggernauts— who coproduced the album with Sébastien Tellier, under the name of Mind Gamers.
