Today marks the release of new single "Harm," Io Echo's first with new label and management home Sargent House (Deafheaven, Boris, Chelsea Wolfe, Russian Circles, etc). Ioanna Gika wrote and co-produced the track along with Leopold Ross and Doc McKinney (producer, The Weeknd).  Gika also directed the hauntingly eery video, premiering today on NPR. Gika speaks on the intensely personal song, saying "I was faced with a personal seismic shift. Several of my immediate family members died, including my father and stepfather, and my long term relationship disintegrated. My remaining family moved from Southeast Asia back to Greece to find it in economic disrepair, while the US slid towards political turmoil. I felt as though I was standing in the ocean in front of an inescapable wave. When there is no way out, no option, other than to brace yourself and let it hit and flow through you with its unstoppable tide. "Harm" was written during this time, and reflects the emotions and clarity that can come from facing a destructive situation head on."

Since their 2013 debut, Ministry of Love, Io Echo, fronted by Ioanna Gika and her main collaborator Leopold Ross, have performed with acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Florence & the Machine, Haim, and New Order, composed an original score for the Louis Vuitton Fall Paris Collection and contributed to various soundtracks. Leopold co-composed HBO's The Defiant Ones and the Brian Wilson biopic, Love And Mercy while Ioanna contributed to Universal's Dracula and has features on new tracks by The Drums and TOKiMONSTA.

"Harm" is available now for stream / purchase via Sargent House - stay tuned for more music to come.
