Today Billboard has shared the official video for "A Spark" from Still SummerThe video which was directed by Jesse and Jamie Dufault is also available to post and share at YouTube.

About the video Matt Pond says:

A Spark is a night of flickering possibility on a porch in Portland, Oregon. It's believing in the beauty of a stranger who disappears forever after the keg is kicked — the face in the crowd that for an unsettling moment turns the world askew in delirious bliss. Hope and regret are sitting side by side, sipping whiskey on a dilapidated train trestle in the back of my mind.

The video was intended to convey pure clarity within social chaos. The recognition of another human being, upside-down in a smoke-filled room filled with strangers.

During the shoot, the actors took their roles incredibly seriously. So much so that at a certain point, the film crew and I became a nuisance to their celebrations.

Last month, NPR Music premiered "Still Summer" which is also streaming to share atSoundcloud. About the song, Matt Pond told NPR, "My first job was at a snack bar in northern New Hampshire. My first girlfriend was an ice-cream-slinging associate. After work, we'd split for the river on rusty bikes, resisting curfews and looking for something dangerous to do. Gasoline and matches never failed. I remember yellow-line tightrope-walking in traffic for no good reason. Even though our crimes were humble, every second felt like a serious thrill. Each glance and grazing fingertip meant something."

Additionally, matt pond PA shared his Double Freeture with Brooklyn Vegan. The Double Freeture includes two non-album tracks "Skin and Bones" and "Sugar River" which are available to download now via SoundCloud

Matt Pond is not outspoken, but he loves to speak and to be spoken to. To dive into the frigid water of understanding and trust the depth. To write songs that make sense of ridiculous daily dissonance, beautifully failed relationships, of the brilliant miscalculations in an easy whisper. It’s that simple: It was all for the experience; it was all for the ride.

At around ninety-five miles an hour, the steering wheel will start to uncontrollably shake in most high-mileage, fifteen-passenger vans. At the same speed and in the same state of mind, it’s nearly impossible to navigate the murky world of music. Since its inception in Philadelphia in 1998, Matt Pond PA has traveled a road of perpetual transformation, a shifting cast of copilots and collaborators defining the band’s every season.

Still Summer features the likes of Laura Stevenson, Laura Burhenn, Caroline Reese and Anya Marina. And of course there’s the copilots, Chris Hansen, Shawn Alpay, Mel Guerison and Kyle Kelly-Yahner, right there with him.

Along with Winter Lives, released in December 2016 by 131 Records, Still Summer will be the last album Pond releases as Matt Pond PA. Over time, a new track or take will be added to each — this is the never-ending conclusion of Matt Pond PA’s strange musical tour.

There will be more music. Yet the serious ones say summer only lasts so long. Soon there will be different titles, unfamiliar names, unforeseen sounds associated with Matt Pond. As if the beginning and the end were one and the same.
