Due to popular demand-  Preoccupations, the band formerly known as Viet Cong, will be reissuing their debut Cassette EP on vinyl on August 4th. The EP is available today digitally as well. Cassette will be self released and distributed via Jagjaguwar worldwide and available through Flemish Eye in Canada.

Cassette was created originally as a tour-only, limited edition cassette release but was released on Mexican Summer in the Summer of 2014 due to high demand and critical acclaim. It serves as a gateway into the world of Preoccupations and is an exciting and defiant music statement. Pitchfork reviewed the EP and wrote, "Viet Cong's songs are complex puzzles. It's like they hear the direction a song is going in and then purposefully take a step in a different direction, and from that place they try to figure out the least obvious way to get back to where they started. The thrill of listening to them is in hearing how they deliberately hurl obstacles in front of themselves while trying to maintain a sense of forward momentum."

Stereogum have hailed the EP as something special, saying "... every song here is overflowing with unpredictable shifts, twisting guitar lines, and major emotional weight while still sounding like breezy psych-rock. It's a fantastic introduction".
