SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 20, 2017) – Noise Pop is excited to announce the music lineup for the fifth annual 20th Street Block Party taking place Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The free neighborhood celebration will bring an eclectic mix of music and entertainment, food and drink, and art to multiple stages just outside the doors of Noise Pop HQ along 19th and 20th Streets, between Harrison and Bryant Streets in the Mission district. The Block Party will benefit 19th Street neighbors Mission Language and Vocational School (MLVS).

Each year, the street party brings a great mix of nationally recognized and local talent. Among the 2017 performers are headliners Neon Indian, popular electronic music outfit helmed by Alan Palomo; as well as singer, songwriter, artist, and designer Kilo KishHoops, the Indiana four-piece who just released their debut album, Routines, this May; and California’s Sugar Candy Mountain, who describe their sound as “if Brian Wilson had dropped acid on a beach in Brazil and decided to record an album with Os Mutantes and The Flaming Lips.” Additional artists include Oakland four-piece The Tambo Rays, who will be releasing their EP, Recharge, on July 17 on OIM Records; San Francisco dream-pop outfit High Sunn, led by the young and prolific Justin Cheromiah; and Oakland duo Big Thursday. The lineup is subject to change.

We’re biased, because we work here, but we think this neighborhood is one of the best in the Bay. We’re honored to be able to celebrate this community year after year,” Noise Pop GM Dawson Ludwig. “We hope you’ll be able to join us in our backyard.”

This year’s culinary offerings will be carefully curated to represent a wide array of the Mission’s best flavors. Among the 2016 culinary highlights were Flour + Water, Burma Bear, Farmhouse Kitchen Thai, Universal CafĂ©, and many more. Stay tuned for additional announcements on this year’s program—including food, family-friendly Art Row activities, nonprofit vendors and partners, and more—in the coming months.

Noise Pop is also proud to once again partner with 19th Street neighbors Mission Language and Vocational School (MLVS), who will co-curate the festivities and performances taking place on 19th Street during the Block Party. MLVS is a private, nonprofit community education and workforce development center, providing occupational skills training and Vocational English as a Second Language to primarily Latino, unemployed and working-poor immigrants and their families, as well as other underserved groups in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admission to this event is free, but donations are suggested. The event is open to the public, and food and drink will be available for purchase. Headliner Experience VIP tickets are also available for $99, and will offer access to a private lounge, restrooms, free food and drinks, and private front-of-stage viewing area. Headliner Experience tickets can be purchased online HERE.
