DAY WAVE RELEASES NEW VIDEO FOR "SOMETHING HERE"

DEBUT ALBUM THE DAYS WE HAD OUT MAY 5

NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF IN JUNE

April 7, 2017 -- Los Angeles, CA -- With less than a month to go until the release of his debut album The Days We Had [May 5, Harvest Records], Day Wave shares the music video for the album's first single "Something Here": WATCH HERE.

Of the Laura-Lynn Petrick-directed video, Day Wave's vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Phillips told Billboard,"We wanted to do something that captured a feeling rather than outlined a story. Something simple that felt real, as if the viewer could see their own life in the video. Laura-Lynn really brought out that vibe with this one."

"Something Here" premiered earlier this year as Zane Lowe's World Record on Beats 1, Apple Music's global radio station. Stereogum called the song "a polished and driving dream-pop track," while Consequence of Sound said, "Day Wave delivers another dream pop gem...a bass-led verse that gives way to an ocean of synths and twinkly guitars." Fans who preorder the album will receive the single as an instant grat along with the recently released track "Untitled," which Paste said "is Day Wave's latest magic trick: turning boredom and longing into something serene and gorgeous. Go for a drive, put it on repeat and settle in as we wait for Phillips to conjure more from his exceptionally promising debut." Additionally, the album's newest instant grat "Promises" is also available today.

In support of The Days We HadDay Wave will embark on a full-scale North American headline tour this summer. It begins June 1 at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR, rolls through major cities across the U.S. and Canada, and concludes June 29 in Santa Barbara, CA at SOhO Music Club. The entire itinerary can be found below -- Paste wrote, "catch him before he's filling venues twice this size in 2018." Tickets are on-sale now -- check HERE for more info.

In 2014, Jackson Philips skipped the city of Angels and trekked north to the Bay Area after leaving Berklee School of Music. This is where he would create the Day Waveproject. He has since received praise from The Los Angeles TimesNoisey,Consequence of SoundStereogumThe FADER, and many more in addition to early support from KCRW, Beats 1, Sirius Alt Nation, and XMU. His breakthrough single"Gone" racked up over 6 million Spotify streams with "Drag" following closely at over 5 million. With self-released singles and EPs under his belt, The Days We Had is his highly anticipated full length major label debut.
