In partnership with the NYC Women’s March, LPJ League presents: Rise Up 2017- an all day community activist fair that will provide a space in tandem with the March-- for various non-profits and grassroots organizations to share information about their work and connect with people who are looking for opportunities to volunteer and become the change. This free, public event will take place at One UN hotel located at One United Nations Plaza, 44th Street (Between First and Second Avenue), just footsteps away from the starting point of the March. Rise Up 2017 will begin at 10:00am and conclude at 5:30pm.

Representing a coalition of diverse causes including reproductive rights, criminal justice, LGBTQ rights, climate change, fair wage, and social justice, Rise Up 2017 will help connect motivated individuals with grassroots groups that need their participation and support. Rise Up 2017 also gives the elderly, people who are triggered by huge crowds, differently abled, and those who can't stay out in the cold for prolonged periods of time an option to participate and engage with the spirit and energy of the March.

At 7pm, the Rise Up 2017 turns into Rise Up 1973, a dance party celebrating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade that will raise funds for LPJL. Belinda Becker and some surprise guests and DJs will have us taking back our rights and the dance floor. Admission is sliding scale starting at $20, but FREE for those who table during the day.
