SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 12, 2017) – Noise Pop Festival, the Bay Area’s premiere independent music and arts festival, is proud to announce today the addition of over 50 new acts to the music lineup from the Bay Area and beyond for the 25th annual event February 17–27, 2017. General Music and Super Fan badges, as well as individual show tickets, are on sale now and available at www.noisepop.com/2017. Individual tickets to the shows for the Bay Area artists just released go on sale this Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. PT.
The festival will celebrate a quarter-century of Noise Pop with an array of amazing performances not only from national music acts but also from an impressive variety of established and up-and-coming Bay Area artists. In addition to the music, fans can also experience captivating film and art shows, along with special events at Noise Pop HQ at the Swedish American Hall, over eleven days at venues throughout the city.
Over fifty performers from the Bay will participate in this year’s event, including acts like Rogue Wave, who will be playing a special show at Popscene featuring a set of 80s covers coinciding with the release of Cover Me, and Oakland-based Australian singer-songwriter Hazel English. Newly announced artists include the Oakland-based garage punk trio Shannon and the Clams; dream-pop group The Bilinda Butchers; aspiring DJ and producer Qrion, who originally hails from Japan prior to relocating to the Bay Area; San Francisco rockers Hot Flash Heat Wave; and more. Also just announced are performances by Japanese Breakfast, the Oregon-based indie rock solo project of Michelle Zauner; Canadian electronic musician Teen Daze; and LA-based musician Kevin Abstract. These artists join previously released festival performers that include Vince Staples, Ty Segall, Deafheaven, MSTRKRFT, BadBadNotGood (BBNG), Dawes, The Radio Dept., Los Campesinos!, and Cloud Nothings.
The full music lineup will continue to be released in installments in the weeks preceding the festival.
