"VOWELS," THE NEW VIDEO FROM CAPITAL CITIES,
PREMIERES TODAY ON VEVO AND MTV

Innovative Video Combines American Sign Language With Choreography

Streams Of "Vowels" Exceed Two Million

Headline Tour Wraps Up With November 22 Show At The Observatory In Santa Ana And November 23 Concert At Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre

The video for Capital Cities' new single, "Vowels," had its online premiere today on Vevo and made its broadcast debut as an MTV Roadblock premiere, airing on MTV, MTV2, MTV Live and mtvU beginning at 6 AM ET. View the "Vowels" video HERE.
Like Capital Cities' MTV Video Music Award-winning video for the multi-Platinum hit "Safe and Sound," the "Vowels" clip also involves choreography. The new video imaginatively combines dance with American Sign Language (ASL) to illustrate the song's theme, aptly encapsulated in its opening line: "I've got something on my mind, but words, they won't do it justice."
Streams for "Vowels," which was released in late September, already exceed two million. Idolator praised the track as "good fun" and noted, "'Vowels' makes up for Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian's minimal use of actual words in the lyrics with funky guitar licks and punctuated brass." The song, which marks the band's first release in more than two years, is available for download HERE and can be streamed on Spotify  "Vowels" appears in the FIFA 17 video game and on the official soundtrack.

The band will wrap up its fall North American headline tour next week with a pair of Southern California dates: a November 22 concert at The Observatory in Santa Ana and a hometown show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on November 23. Kaneholler will open. In December, Capital Cities will play a series of holiday radio station shows. See below for itinerary
