SUPER FURRY ANIMALS Announce U.S. Tour Dates

* ADD SECOND LOS ANGELES SHOW @ THE ROXY *
FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN SIX YEARS
"The adventuring Welsh rockers win the reunion of the year title with a dazzling set of witty and madcap hits ... Despite the Lennon-aping antics of their peers, Wales's Super Furry Animals were the closest Britpop came to the adventuring spirit of the Beatles. Their indie rock, psychedelic pop, dance, country, glam and space-folk mashup was as pioneering as their aesthetic was madcap ... These homecoming gods showed us the old magic." - The Guardian

Super Furry Animals burst onto the music scene in 1995 with the release of their first EP Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (In Space).  They were quickly recognized as being amongst the most interesting and inventive bands of the '90s British music boom and a string of lauded albums, which included their breakthrough Rings Around The World(named MOJO Magazine's Album Of The Year in 2001), cemented their position as indie rock's most engaging eccentrics.

In their native Wales they're considered a bona fide national treasure, and last year saw a special 15th anniversary re-issue of their only entirely Welsh language long player Mwng by Domino Records. To mark the event, Super Furry Animals  - dormant since the 2009 touring for their last album Dark Days/Light Years due to individual music projects - got together to perform together again. They headlined festivals around the UK and Europe as well as the 4Knots Festival in New York City in July.

The response from music lovers has been overwhelming as the beloved Furries provide a stellar, career-spanning set replete with fan-familiar costume changes. This forthcoming run of North American live dates is long overdue. The band just added an additional Los Angeles show on February 12th at The Roxy. FULL DATES BELOW.

Recent Live Reviews for Super Furry Animals:

"The epic set list takes us on a colourful journey through a diverse back catalogue which spans nine imaginative albums, touching on all sorts of genres including psychedelic rock, jazz, pop, garage, indie and glam rock, taking the crowd from a mood of heart-swelling euphoria to dark despondency and back again." - The Independent

"Like the Flaming Lips, in many ways their closest American analogue, the Furries are infinitely more muscular live, more driving and propulsive and head-nod-worthy... Here we had less a loose collection of songs spanning SFA's two decades of output (though that was, in fact, also true) and more a cohesive whole, a show, right down to the costume changes... maybe there were people out there, elsewhere, doing other things as this Saturday darkened into night. But one thing I can say for sure is that those people drifted right by something very special." - The Village Voice

"They inspire utter devotion from their followers, whose giddy excitement can be sensed the minute you walk in. There is frenzied chatter about what will they play, and in the end so strong is their back catalogue that tonight's 25-song set leaves out some of their biggest hit singles without anybody being bothered in the slightest." -NME
