Leisure Cruise Announces Winter Tour Dates
Life+Times Premieres Lights "Running With The Boys"
(Leisure Cruise Remix)

"High def, soaring synth-pop with a side of spaceship funk" - Noisey

"Leisure Cruise will take you on a journey somewhere far away" - The Huffington Post

Stream: Lights' "Running With The Boys" (Leisure Cruise Remix)
Life+Times or

Leisure Cruise is excited to announce their upcoming winter tour dates. The tour kicks off on Wednesday, February 18th in Boston, MA at the Middle East Upstairs. Special guests Stars will join Leisure Cruise on four of the tour dates. JayZ's Life+Times  recently premiered Leisure Cruise's new remix of LIGHTS' track "Running with the Boys." Life+Times called it "the quintessence of an addictive electro pop record - with a hint of house music's mellow tempo." Leisure Cruise's Dave Hodge said, "I had a blast working on this track. With Lights' energetic vocal, I wanted to jack up the tempo and keep it funky... in the bridge I gave a nod to our track 'Revelation' with the chords and rhythm.. although Revelation is much slower and a totally different vibe. It's a really cool song to begin with, which always makes it that much easier, too." The track is also available to stream and share via SoundCloud.

Leisure Cruise is Dave Hodge and Leah Siegel. Dave Hodge is a Canada-born musician (Broken Social Scene & Bran Van 3000) who has performed with Feist, Macy Gray, Brazilian Girls, andBasement Jaxx. He was sitting in a café when he saw an acquaintance walk by: singer and songwriter Leah Siegel (a fixture on the New York scene known for her solo project Firehorse and for singing with The Citizens Band), and asked her if she wanted to try some co-writes. They got to straight to work, and didn't stop until their debut album was finished. So what does this mash of influences sound like? Something sounding like the future as imagined in the past-yet rooted in the now. Imagine the music of a John Hughes film if it had been written by Bowie, remixed by Johnny Jewel, and fronted by a female Prince, and you'll start to get the idea. Rounding out the sound is an impressive roster of guests (Metric's Jimmy Shaw, Blondie's Tommy KesslerLiam O'Neil from the StillsJustin Peroff of Broken Social Scene, and Drake's Adrian Eccleston). It's at once dark and light, serious and fun, melancholic and euphoric. Ask Hodge and Siegel about their sound and process, and the answer sounds a lot like what happiness researchers call flow. "We're not trying to emulate anything," Hodge says. "We're just making music that we'd want to listen to ourselves, and hopefully that means others will want to, too."

LA Duo Howls to Release new song "White Noise"

Los Angeles Duo Howls to Release New Single “White Noise”
On Buddyhead Records
Los Angeles’s duo Howls, are set to release their newest single “White Noise”  on Buddyhead Records on February 3rd. “White Noise” marks a new direction for the band who’s self-titled debut, released last year, was praised by Philthy Magazine as "...the sexiest record of the year." and the Aquarian said “Not only does Howls instill a charmingly magnetic vibe into each song, the duo also mesmerizes listeners with tranquil melodies that channel thrilling emotions.”
After wearing many musical hats, Howls were inspired to take their music in a different direction, “because music should be fun sometimes too,” says Howls female half Annalee Fery. Howls debut album was guitar driven brooding electronica, and this newest song was penned with the intention of making people want to dance. This new direction marks a big first for the band. This is the first time they brought in an outside producer, Jon Siebels, to help them capture the sound of “White Noise.”
“We’ve always dabbled in different instrumentation in Howls,” says guitarist  Christian Stone. “ White Noise started out as an idea at rehearsal and became a staple of our live show as a guitar-based thing. We tried recording it this way but we weren’t happy with the results at all… So we decided, to experiment, and brought in producer Jon Siebels. He stripped away all the ‘traditional’ instrumentation and really focused on synths and programmed drums instead. Suddenly the song made sense!”

Despite the new sonic directionHowls have retained their signature juxtaposed style of a dark and heavy lyrics coated in upbeat and fun melodies with “White Noise.” This song is about compassion, specifically compassion for children in need. “Fortunately my mother raised me to have one of those pathetic hearts.” says Fery “The moment I see someone who's hurting, especially kids, my heart breaks. Being a mother has taught me as well to care for every lost and hurting child.”

Stealing Sheep Announce New Album 'Not Real'

Stealing Sheep Announce New Album Not Real

Out April 14th On Heavenly Recordings

Not Real is the much-anticipated second album by Stealing Sheep, written, recorded and produced by band members Becky HawleyEmily Lansley and Lucy Mercer at their studio in Liverpool, and due for release 14th April on Heavenly Recordings. The unifying theme of the new album is the interplay of fact and fiction; the edge of dreams and limits of reality. These visions are grounded by bright melodies and insistent beats and unified by vocal harmonies; sometimes metronomic and chant-like, sometimes choral and pop. The band have just release an enticing album trailer which can be viewed HERE.

Stealing Sheep's acclaimed 2012 debut,  Into the Diamond Sun, morphed their individual styles to create a 'medieval-kraut-folk' inspired sound. They were described as an unanticipated 'pagan pop revival' and since its release have toured as guests of Postal Service and Alt-J, opened for St.Vincent in Paris, performed the songs of David Lynch at the Barbican and collaborated with the Radiophonic Workshop on an original soundtrack to the cult 70's science fiction film La Planete Sauvage.

For this second album they have concentrated on developing the sonic aesthetic of their music. "We were more focused about what we are trying to do. Everything has a reason for being there." They've experimented with tuned percussion, programmed beats, trigger samples and worked with effected synths, utilising the guitar and lap steel more sparingly and introducing more processed sounds. They've drawn inspiration from 50's exotica, electronic music and 80's pop and been influenced by the likes of Grace JonesMayaDerenEden AhbezDelia DerbyshireMoondog and John Carpenter

Having learned new skills in the studio over the last few years, the band self-produced the album. They used the studio not only as a writing tool but also as an instrument; experimenting with post-production and varying instrumentation and layered textures. "We started off in pre-production doing all the demos ourselves" say's Becky "the demos captured an atmosphere that we wanted to carry forward to the album. The result was a hypbrid of casual takes and more considered recordings."

The visual representation is highly important to the band, all of whom have art backgrounds. "We like to be involved in all the aspects of the presentation because it's symbiotic to the music." The colourful and organic album cover, a collaboration between photographer Charlotte Rutherford and collage artistLouise Mason, shows their confident image for this record: as they tread the lines of surreal pop. Follow them on a hypnagogic journey as they sing: "listen to yourself and look within".

Stealing Sheep will be performing in London the week after next at a sold out date at Chats Palace on February 10th.

Not Real will be released 14th April on Heavenly Recordings.

Rebekka Karijord Premieres Powerful Video on Flavorwire

Rebekka Karijord

"Oh Brother" Video Unveiled w/ Flavorwire

Second International Album, We Become Ourselves
Out February 5th via Control Freak Records
"...a stunning work that explores Karijord’s relationships with men with equal parts power and vulnerability through dramatic orchestral parts,
tribal drums, sparse piano, and an overall vocal-driven style
comparable to Lykke Li and Zola Jesus." - Flavorwire
“…a gorgeous album of harmonies, piano, and paeans to,
I think, womanly strength.” -Jezebel

Norwegian born singer-songwriter Rebekka Karjord releases video “Oh Brother” onFlavorwire. The release of her second international album, WE BECOME OURSLVES,will be available for the first time in the states on February 5th, 2015 via Control Freak Kitten Records.
“Oh Brother” is a hauntingly beautiful look at male duality that embraces softer values of society while also maintaining masculine identity. Karijord not only wrote "Oh Brother" but also directed the simplistic black and white music video, incorporating men she loves from her own private life. Spine-chilling minor chords, a celestial sounding male choir, and Karijord's ethereal yet powerful voice are entwined in "Oh Brother". The single is a dedication to the relationships between men and the women they protect, love, and support on a daily basis. Karijord's male relationship's and their complexity becomes the primary focal point of inspiration throughout her highly anticipated second international album We Become Ourselves.
"I consider myself a feminist, but first and foremost, I am a humanist. I think it´s important to highlight that we all incorporate the same feelings and needs."
Originally from the Arctic Circle of Northern Norway before moving to Sweden a decade ago, Karijord has composed music for over 30 films, modern and theatrical pieces, and has written numerous plays as well as short stories. Karijord also provided music forCirkus Cirko’s international traveling performance Wear it Like A Crownwhich has now toured for four years for over 200,00 people.

Be sure to check out the Flavorwire debut of “Oh Brother” HERE and stay tuned for the U.S release of international album We Become Ourselves on February 5th 2015!

H Hawkline Streams "In The Pink Of Condition" LP On NME

Out February 3rd On Heavenly Recordings

H Hawkline (aka Huw Gwynfryn Evans) releases his new album, In The Pink Of Condition, on February 3rd on Heavenly Recordings. It is his first long-player "proper" for the label (he released a compilation of previous EPs and tracks, Salt Gall Box Ghouls, in August 2014). The album will be preceded by the release of a single, "Moons In My Mirror", which recently premiered on The Quietus

Recorded at Seahorse Sound Studios in LA and produced by long-time cohort, fellow Welsh 'migr' and musical maven Cate le BonIn the Pink Of Condition is his 3rd album, following 2010's A Cup Of Salt and 2011's The Strange Uses Of Ox Gall.

An album of "strange pop" (words borrowed from Huw) it's a controlled explosion of lazer-guided guitar melody - think a careering Television show or Pavement outside the original site of Spillers - and whip smart bi-lingual wordplay.

Although reluctant to cite a shopping list's worth of influences, Huw nods to two permanent inspirations – the maverick U.S. author Richard Brautigan(the Hawkline name appropriated from Brautigan's 1974 "gothic western"The Hawkline Monster) and a just-turned-solo Paul McCartney (Huw namechecks Ram, an album coincidentally recorded when the once-and-future Beatlewas also twenty-nine). From the former, a wistful ways with words - songs constructed as slices of life, surrealist observations on the everyday. From the latter - what else would one ask for other than a just smidgeon of McCartney's six sense for abundant, tumbling melody?

Having recently supported Cate Le Bon on her UK tour, H Hawkline has announced detais of a UK tour in February.
