July 2 – Los Angeles, CA – The Libertines will release their highly-anticipated and long-awaited third album, Anthems For Doomed Youth, on September 4, 2015, via Harvest Records. Annie Mac at BBC Radio 1 exclusively premiered the record’s first single and music video in over a decade, “Gunga Din,” today. You can watch it HERE!

The he video for “Gunga Din” was filmed in ‘Walking Street,’ Pattaya (the sex capital of Thailand), and directed byRoger SargentAnthems For Doomed Youth was produced by Jake Gosling and recorded at Karma Sound Studios, Thailand, over 6 weeks during April and May 2015. It is The Libertines’ first album in eleven years, and will be available as a deluxe CD, 12” vinyl, and standard and deluxe digital. The U.S. pre-order will begin July 24th.

Having just made a surprise triumphant return at the Glastonbury Festival, where “from the first chords they proved that a summer spent in Thailand recording a new record has reignited the spark that made them such a magnetic, exciting prospect in the first place. The Libertines are also a tighter force than they have ever been,”  (The Telegraph)  causing the entire crowd to erupt  into the kind of mass sing-along that only a handful of bands could ever achieve” (NME). This summer they will be headlining T in The Park and the Reading & Leeds Festivals.

The Libertines are Peter Doherty – vocals/guitar, Carl Barât – vocals/guitar, John Hassall – bass guitar and Gary Powell – drums.
