ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR DATES

INCLUDING APPEARANCES AT NORTHSIDE, BONNAROO, PITCHFORK FESTIVALS + MORE

Mac DeMarco photographed by Brad Elterman

The last year has been a wild one for Mac DeMarco. After quietly releasing his debut EP Rock and Roll Night Club in March of 2012, he set to crafting 2, his first long player under his own name. The songs Mac wrote in the spring and early summer of 2012, combined with non-stop touring, undeniable charm and a reputation for raucous live shows brought the gap-toothed 22 year old from Montreal international attention - even catching the ears of Phoenix, with whom Mac just finished a West Coast US tour.

Building on the successes of 2012, Mac DeMarco is back today to share the Alex Lill-directed video for 2 highlight "My Kind Of Woman" via Nowness. Along with the video, Mac is announcing another run of North American tour dates slated for this summer, including stops at OBEY, Northside, Bonnaroo, Sled Island and Pitchfork Festivals, among others. Check out the video for "My Kind Of Woman" along with all of Mac's upcoming North American tour dates below.

Pere Ubu announce North American tour!

Pere Ubu announce North American tour!

Tour kicks off at Hopscotch Music Festival on September 6th!

"If Pere Ubu's '414 Seconds' were only an instrumental, it would be plenty terrifying: During these slinking seven minutes, drum hits trigger guitar cries that sound like death moans in the distance, while reeds of electronic noise slither like snakes through the din. But it's not instrumental, and both the curdled voice and the oneirological torment of frontman David Thomas only exacerbate the music's hall of horrors.
- Grayson Currin, Pitchfork
__________________________________________________

Pere Ubu returned with their first new studio album in over three years with the January release of Lady From Shanghai on Fire Records (home to Guided by Voices, Mission of Burma, Giant Sand, Bailterspace, Josephine Foster and many others). The album ushers in a new era in the history of Pere Ubu, with David Thomas and band continuing to provoke and shock listeners, further establishing them as one of the most innovative, progressive and important bands of all time.
The Pere Ubu project was supposed to be an end, not a beginning. Assembled in August 1975 to be the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young of the Cleveland music underground, the plan was to record one, maybe two singles and exist no more. Within months, however, those first self-produced records were being snapped up in London, Paris, Manchester, New York and Minneapolis. Pere Ubu was changing the face of rock music. Over the next 34 years they defined the art of cult; refined the voice of the outsider; and inspired the likes of Joy Division, Pixies, Husker Du, Henry Rollins, REM, Sisters of Mercy, Thomas Dolby, Bauhaus, Julian Cope and countless others.
Pere Ubu make a music that is a disorienting mix of midwestern groove rock, “found” sound, analog synthesizers, falling-apart song structures and careening vocals. It is a mix that has mesmerized critics, musicians and fans for decades.

Pere Ubu Fall Tour:

09.06 • Hopscotch Music Festival (Raleigh, NC)
09.07 • The Earl (Atlanta, GA)
09.08 • Mercy Lounge (Nashville, TN)

09.11 • North Star Bar (Philadelphia, PA)
09.12 • Bowery Ballroom (New York, NY)
09.13 • Fete Lounge (Providence, RI)
09.14 • Brighton Music Hall (Allston, MA)
09.15 • Higher Ground - Lounge (South Burlington, VT)
09.16 • Maverick's (Ottawa, ON)
09.17 • Le Cabaret du Mile End (Montreal, QC)
09.18 • Lee's Palace (Toronto, ON)
09.19 • Beachland Ballroom (Cleveland, OH)
09.20 • Trinosophes (Detroit, MI)
09.21 • The Empty Bottle (Chicago, IL)

Press for Lady From Shanghai:
"Pere Ubu made some of the darkest and most creative music of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Thirty five years after its release, The Modern Dance would easily make my top 10 of all time. We hear the word "industrial" bandied about to describe music — The Modern Dance exemplified that genre.  Wordsmith and singer David Thomas and his ever-changing band members have made more than a dozen albums worth hearing since then. And now they're back with a new song, "Free White," from a new album, Lady From Shanghai, due in January. It's good to know that singular, defining sound still haunts this band." Bob Boilen - NPR
“Ubu are generally regarded as the missing link between the Velvets and punk. From the beginning they obviously understood the nuts and bolts of popular music, and then loosened them.” Joe Cushley – Mojo
“They’re the greatest out-rock ‘n’ roll group of this millennium, and probably the next.” Edwin Pouncey – The Wire
Band:
David Thomas
Keith MolinĂ© – guitar
Robert Wheeler – synthesizer
Gagarin – synthesizer
Michele Temple – bass
Steve Mehlman – drums

Beat Connection Announces West Coast Tour

Beat Connection Announces West Coast Tour

Odezsa Remixes 'Saola' From The Palace Garden LP
"easy to swallow but subtly expansive the more you get into it--feel first, think later." - The FADER
"a rollicking trifecta of chirpy harmonies, spastic bass, and extraterrestrial-sounding synth." - Consequence of Sound

Stream the Odezsa Remix of 'Saola' at the Earmilk Premiere or Soundcloud

Watch the Video for 'Further Out' at IFC

Electro-pop trio Beat Connection has announced a string of west coast tour dates before they embark on a two-month trip to Laos, a brief escape from the internet before tackling their second full-length with free, open minds. The Seattle-based group's fall 2012 debut LP, The Palace Garden (Tender Age/Moshi Moshi), received praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, Blackbook, The FADER, KEXP, IFC, and more, with The Seattle Weekly deeming them "Best New Band." The band's singles and remixes from the likes of Saint Etienne, The Whendays, Sun Airway, and Cellar, were at the top of the Hype Machine for weeks, and are all streaming at Soundcloud. Now, to add to these remixes, Northwest production duo Odesza has remixed the single 'Saola,' morphing the track into a pulsating, shimmery-dance tune, and will be joining them on tour.

Beat Connection is looking for the luxury of making it to work on time right now.  Shortly after the release of their full-length debut and a headlining tour of the U.S, with White Arrows and MMoths, the band went from a quartet to the present-day trio of Reed Juenger, Jarred Katz and Tom Eddy.  Leaving some of the turmoil of youthful naivety (a sliver really) behind them, they look forward with open hearts and minds to working on their next release and getting some time to be turned down. Catch them on the road before they head overseas.

Beat Connection West Coast Tour Dates

DEBBIE HARRY Bobblehead by Drastic Plastic

Aggronautix (Logo - White)
DEBBIE HARRY Bobblehead by Drastic Plastic,
Limited to 1000 Units

Pre-order HERE  -  Ships in August

Debbie Harry rose from the 1970s New York club scene to international stardom with Blondie, and now this punk-rock chanteuse is presented as a limited edition, hand-numbered bobble head. Debbie is rendered with her iconic white dress and golden locks. The doll stands approximately seven inches high and is cast in durable polyresin for stability and exquisite detail.

With her two-tone bleached-blonde hair, Debbie Harry quickly became a punk icon. Her look was further popularized by the band's early presence in the music video revolution of the era. She was a regular at Studio 54, and in June 1979, Blondie was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone.

During 1976 and 1977, Blondie released their first two albums. The second experienced some marginal success outside the United States. However, 1978's Parallel Lines (US No. 6, UK No. 1) shot the group to international success and included the global smash hit single "Heart of Glass." Riding the crest of Disco's domination, the infectious track hit No. 1 in the US and sold nearly two million copies. The follow-up single "One Way Or Another" reached No. 24 on Billboard's Hot 100. The album was the band's biggest success. Although it has sold over 4 million copies in the US, it has never been certified above the Platinum level. It was also the biggest selling album of 1979 in the UK.

Courtney Jaye Announces Love and Forgiveness Out May 7th

Courtney Jaye Announces Love and Forgiveness Out May 7th
Stephen Lynch Tour In Progress

Nashville chanteuse Courtney Jaye lost her battle with pop music while preparing her upcoming album “Love and Forgiveness” and it’s great news for music fans everywhere. “I’m done apologizing for writing big songs – I don’t want to be afraid of that,” says Nashville-‐based singer/songwriter Courtney Jaye. “I’ve always wanted to find a way to not be afraid of pop,” she adds. “That’s the music I love.”
American Songwriter got in on the action, featuring “One Way Conversation” this week, a song Jay co-wrote with singer/songwriter Thad Cockrell of LEAGUES. Steeped in rhythms inspired by Levon Helm of The Band, Jaye belts the tune with sass and style, backed by an all star band that includes Neal Casal on guitar, Greg Leisz on pedal steel and Wallflowers percussionist Fred Eltringham on drums.
Jaye is spinning into action as the release draws near, with a tour with comedian/singer/songwriter Stephen Lynch as an integral of his band.“Singing and touring with Stephen Lynch is a little dream come true. Never in a million years would I have the courage to write songs as brash, vulgar and honest as he writes - yet I get to sing them (while blushing uncontrollably), and be part of a show that makes people laugh for 2 hours straight.” The tour is natural fit as Jaye has provided a demure foil to Lynch’s bawdiness on his last album, Lion. In addition, Jaye is booked for live sessions with Relix, Daytrotter and Billboard, so look for that coverage coming soon, as well as ink in Blurt, No Depression, Great American Country online and a slew of other music mags.
Watch the Video for “Say Oh Say” at USA TODAY:
Love and Forgiveness is an organic and rootsy album that recalls the classic 70s-‐inspired pop of her heroes Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt and Fleetwood Mac. Born in Pittsburgh and growing up in musically rich settings of Athens, GA, Flagstaff, AZ, Austin, Southern California, and even Hawaii (Kauai to be exact) before settling in Nashville, Jaye’s musical palette is fueled by her immersion in the regional sounds and scenes she’s experienced. Along the way, she has collaborated with the likes of Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Matthew Sweet and members of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. That broad range of experience and musical interests comes together beautifully on Love and Forgiveness.
Tour Dates with Stephen Lynch:
04/27 Talking Stick Resort - Scotsdale AZ
05/02 The Egg - Albany NY
05/03 Gramercy Theater - New York NY
05/04 Gramercy Theater - New York NY
05/05 Gramercy Theater - New York NY
05/7-8-9 Grimey’s - Nashville (Courtney Jaye show)
05/10 Record Release Show - Stone Fox Nashville (Courtney Jaye show)
05/17 Sherman Theater - Stroudsburg PA

Hands Debut Album Synesthesia Streaming

Hands Debut Album Synesthesia Streaming Now At Nylon
Download Hands' Remix Of Passion Pit's "It's Not My Fault At Stereogum
Summer Tour Dates Announced

"If you're a fan of Hot Chip or Tanlines, this is your band to follow in 2013." - Stereogum

"The band blends thumping bass, esoteric guitar riffs, frenetic drumming and soaring, looping vocals to get staid indie rockers moving." - Time

Listen: Synesthesia via Nylon or Spotify
Download: Hands' Remix Of Passion Pit's "It's Not My Fault" via Stereogum

Los Angeles-based Hands' are set to release their debut full-length album Synesthesia on April 30 via Kill Rock Stars. In anticipation of the album, Nylon is running an album stream a week before the release. The album is also streaming in full on Spotify. Earlier this week, Stereogum premiered the band's remix of Passion Pit's "It's Not My Fault." Hot on the heels of their sold out April Residency at Los Angeles' The Echo, Hands will be performing on Thursday at The Echoplex as direct support for Wavves as part of the Red Bull Sound Select Presents: Los Angeles. Hands also announced a summer tour, which will make stops in major cities including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and more.

Hands makes music like a rip tide, swirling in overlapping loops and riffs, slowly enveloping you. The group's members - Geoff Halliday, Ryan Sweeney, Sean Hess and Alex Staniloff - craft their hypnotic sound from a single dropping note that builds into a reverberating roar that crashes over you like a wave. It's a mesmerizing trick that they pull off on their debut LP, Synesthesia. Songs like "Videolove" and "Trouble" show Hands' innate ability to blend instruments and electronics into a deep texture that moves ethereally through genres. Hands moves from rock to synth-pop to skyrocketing stadium anthem, often within the same song. The interplay of Sweeney's esoteric guitar riffs, Hess' technical tempos, Staniloff's thumping bass and Halliday's soaring vocals and affected keyboards help Hands build a dynamic atmosphere, where a lesser band would only manage empty atmospherics.

A relative newcomer to the LA scene, Hands began as a two-piece from Philadelphia before Halliday and Sweeney headed west and added the low and thump of Hess and Staniloff. The band made a mark on the scene immediately, quickly playing packed shows across the country including stops at SXSW, CMJ and Deluna Fest, headlining Echo Park Rising, sessions with Daytrotter, and a west coast jaunt with Maps and Atlases. Hands' ability to win over fans with their feverish live show and dance-party-ready sound has already earned them opening spots for the likes of Deerhoof, DeVotchKa, Foster the People and Kimbra as well as playing shows to sold out crowds at venues across LA.

For now, Hands' graceful and danceable indie rock is still under the radar, as evidenced by their spot in TIME Magazine's 11 Bands You Don't Know (But Should) List, but they are quickly rising to the surface, bringing their melodies and thumping beats with them. Stereogum recently said, "If you're a fan of Hot Chip or Tanlines, this is your band to follow in 2013." Over the past year, Hands has built a devoted following for their evolving palette of sounds, soaring melodies, and complex looping song structures. With overwhelming responses to first listens of Synesthesia and radio adds to tastemaker stations such as KEXP, The Current and SIRIUS XM ALT NATION, this is the year that Hands will start to make waves.

Introducing: Schonwald

Don’t let the Germanic name fool you, the first Italian band signed to HoZac and one we’ve been excited to unleash for months, Schonwald emerge here on their US debut single slithering with unsettling vibes right from the start. This two-piece unit has been surreptitiously dwelling in the shadowy corners of the European underworld for a few years now, releasing their debut LP in 2009 on a special Vinyl edition including CD on Pocket Heaven Records (Lux) and performing at festivals with the likes of UK Decay, and other similar bands, Schonwald are now encroaching on world submission with the unleashing of their long-anticipated “Mercurial” single. A chilling and hopelessly bleak drum-machine rhythm sets the tone, parting the waves of rippling darkness into a massive surge of inescapable, hushed-yet-crushing electronic melancholia.  European post punk at it’s finest, Alessandra and Luca of Schonwald create a pulsing, black-lit atmospheric electronic vibration so cold, hypnotic, and simple, it’s perfect for our endlessly frozen world.

Oberhofer's brand new collection of songs from his new EP NOTALGIA

OBERHOFER

Oberhofer's brand new collection of songs from his new EP NOTALGIA is out today on Glassnote.

Written and recorded in Brooklyn, the songs continue to show Brad Oberhofer's progression as a songwriter, all the while matched with the catchy hooks and effect driven guitars we have come to love and expect from the band.
The tracks have a sunny quality to them, as Noisey when premiering "You & Me (In The Future)" advised listeners, "do yourself a favor and listen to the track out-of-doors," even though the subject matter for the EP explores much more serious issues.

Brad told Rolling Stone, "When people are addicted to drugs or depressed, they are often sucked into a world that makes it impossible to think beyond sadness or to absorb any emotional support from friends and family." He goes on, "In the past few years, I've lost some friends to things like this. In those situations, there was nothing I could have said to help them. They couldn't have heard me if they'd tried."
Still, despite the heavy themes, the songs still carry the irresistible qualities that make you keep wanting to go back for more. Spin reflected this sentiment when posting "Together Never:" writing, "Oberhofer surveys the gap between twentysomething fatalism and idealism."

The band are about to hit the road again playing a series of shows in East Coast, all dates are below.
