Antony and the Johnsons

Antony and the Johnsons Release Swanlights Today!

Celebrate Release with Letterman Performance,
Pitchfork Video premiere and Guardian Take Over

Following the success of last year’s The Crying Light, the Mercury Prize winning Antony and the Johnsons release their 4th album Swanlights on Secretly Canadian to heaps of critical praise. Swanlights may be Antony's most wide-rangingly emotional work to date. It is a record that is at moments heartbreakingly tender, and at other times has a joyful gleam to its teeth. Included on the album is “Flétta”, an Icelandic duet with Antony’s fellow avant-garde singer/songwriter Björk. A special edition, which includes a 144-page hardcover book of Antony’s paintings, collages, photography and writing , is also out today and available through Abrams Image.

In celebration of the release of Swanlights, Antony premiered the new video for “The Spirit Was Gone” on Pitchfork today. The track is also available on RCRD LBL where it premiered today. Antony and the Johnsons performed the album’s lead single, “Thank You for Your Love”, on The Late Show with David Letterman this past Friday. In addition to Swanlights streaming in its entirety on AOL Spinner and RollingStone.com, Antony is taking over The Guardian all week. The site will feature interviews with Antony and Marina Abromovic and Björk as well as exclusive videos. See the takeover here.
